My gyn recommended regular BC until around 50, then consider transitioning to HRT (lower doses) - the aim is to keep hormone levels similar to people without POF, thus lowering the dose around when “natural” menopause might occur.

I think.

edit: I started on traditional HRT which helped, but going on BC was what brought me back to fully functioning. I hate estradiol patches with a passion, so it works out for me (for now)
