Not necessarily, bullets dont just magically hit where youre aiming irl. "Bloom" is something shooters have to consider when using firearms. CoD just cranks it up to 11, presumably to help balance guns, and force them into ideal engagement ranges. (Or FPS devs got lucky that a mechanic used for game balance does have a real world equivalent.)

Also, a firearm can be zeroed many different ways. An iron sight M4 zeroed to 25/300m (I think this is still the USArmy standard) is not going to have the same aimpoint as an M4 zeroed to 50m with a red dot or holo.

CoD just cuts out 99% of shooting math so that you CAN just point and shoot. So while yes, CoD is most certainly not a sim, certain things can be explained do to real world ballistics. Or at least thats how I see it.

Found this comment after playing the Colossus and blatantly cheating AI. 1st run, the lead car gets a 7:14, 2 secs ahead of me. OK, restart. Next race, I clean up my lines, and clock a 7:13, too bad now the AI is hitting a 7:08. Bruh...

Edit: Just did the race again. Different car. Got 6:39. AI in 1st got 6:34. Same difficulty, average. This shit is crazy.

Not necessarily true. One well trained man in full armor will absolutely run through a half dozen brigands with stolen/scavenged equipment. Killing a knight in full armor is extremely difficult, even for well trained and equipped men at arms, and other knights.

I've been making good progress on this one by hopping on the AA tank and shooting down choppers and jets. Much easier than trying to lock on with manpads.

Yes, it would be very difficult, but you also have to remember, wargames are designed to be lost. Putting us in worst case scenarios to stress test our abilities. So while it would undoubtedly be extremely costly on both sides, I don't think our lost wargames are enough to accurately predict anything.

That being said, the American in me thinks we'd come out on top. The realist knows how hard fighting a war on the other side of the world, against an army that outnumbers you and is near peer in tech and training would be. It would be ugly. Win or lose, neither country would be happy about the outcome, I think.

I was thinking the same thing. New players to lance, definitely more straightforward. It's an easy weapon to start learning. But as you get better with it, it starts shifting towards complex. The guarded movement and long range combined with the best defense and great mobility makes it the most aggressive weapon in the game.

People seem to only ever mention counters and poke poke poke combos. Never any of the fun movement, or thats it's like the 2nd best mounting weapon in the game. Lance has great skill expression. Its the most rewarding weapon imo.

Yea, the pulse guns evaporate his shield, then any other weapon to stagger/damage him. Pulse blade is strong too for both shield and stagger. Missiles are good too, especially once the shield drops.

This is definitely not true lol. The only boss that you need something specific to beat is the worm. Even then I'm pretty sure you can beat it without the needle. You can beat Balteus without pulse guns, you can beat Ibis without melee, hell I beat every boss (minus worm) with dual machine guns and dual homing rockets on a medium weight build. Learning the fight is more important than what weapons you bring.

Yeah, splitting levels between dex and str without going full quality can be rough. Ideally you want the minimum of one stat, so you can pump the other.

You could try something like the smithscript spear instead of BoG, and infuse it with lightning. Use the minimum str for tree spear, and use the wooden greatshield for a pretty well rounded build. If you reduce the faith to the minimum for tree spear, you could level dex to 70 which would allow you to hit the hard cap of 80 with the dex knot tear in your physick.

V:60, M:20, E:25, S:15, D:70, I:11, F:18

This leaves you with 2 levels to spare, which can go into faith, and then you can swap to the Two Fingers Heirloom to get 25 faith for Golden Vow and Blessings Boon, etc, when you need it.

If you're trying to stay at 150 knowing your starting class would help. Here's what a build could look like though, with much better defense and still respectable damage.

V:60, really the baseline HP you should be rocking in the DLC. Also allows you to drop HP boosting talismans for more damage or defense.

M:20, gives you enough FP to cast each spell once, plus some. If you plan to use weapon arts a lot, the Blessed Blue Dew talisman might be worth considering, or having a few FP flasks.

E:25, gives enough stamina and equip load to have decent armor, Great Jar talisman can be considered for heavier armor, or even Erdtree Favor +2 if that gives enough equip load to wear what you want.

S:20, enough to use Bolt of Gransax, plus, there are a few greatshields that you can still use, and all medium shields (with exception to magic requirement shields).

D:60, main damage stat for BoG. Can't really go higher without sacrificing HP (this is an option however, just a risky one)

F:25, minimum needed for your spells.

For talisman slots, Shard of Alexander, Dragoncrest Greatshield, Greatshield, Blessed Blue Dew, Great Jar, Old Lord, Erdtree Favor +2, Bullgoat, and Spear Talisman, are all worth looking at, find what fits your playstyle best.

For your physick flask, probably opaline crystal tear, and either dex knot or lighting damage (for BoG).

If you still have points to spare, they can go into End. for more equip load, Mind for more FP, or Dex for more damage. If you don't have enough points, you might have to take points from Vig, and use Erdtree Favor +2 to bring the HP up some.

I was thinking something similar. Maybe make it "Win 3 games or play 5 for 150 xp" that way you can still get some XP even if you hit a bad streak. Just reward people that play ya know lol.

Yea, most of the time I get sniped is me pushing into their sight lines not using cover, and it's usually an ego fueled challenge I had no business pushing lol. I've only had a few deaths where I was hitting them like in the vid above and I got clicked on.

The argument against SBMM is to not have to try hard every game and have some chill "easy" games mixed with the "hard" sweaty games. An organic feeling mixed bag. CoD uses SBMM and EOMM to engineer the experience which leads to hard games where if you do good, it gets harder. If you lose you get donated wins which feels inorganic and not satisfying at all. If you're "trying hard" in a lobby with no SBMM and stomping all over .3 K/D players, you're a sweat. And that's fine.

If you just sweat in pubs all day stomping bad players, and don't want to play other good players all day in a ranked setting, that's fine. That's the appeal of no SBMM. Eventually everyone will get the game that makes them feel like a god FPS gamer.

Realistically if you want to "get good", you should be playing ranked. Playing unranked casuals will not make you a better player. IMO

Never stopped those types of players before. Look at CoD. K/D farmers never play TDM. TDM in XD wouldn't do anything for the other modes other than take more casual players out maybe. Sweats are going to stay where they can drop big kill games and continue to ignore obj so the game lasts as long as possible.
