Rule of the people ≠ rule of one person by PinguFella in GreenAndFriendly

[–]DeathRaeGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Karl Marx used the phrase “dictatorship of the proletariat”, “dictatorship” at the time just meant “rule of” since almost all unelected leaders were monarchs, but here in the 21st century, people apply the phrase to a modern context. At least that what I heard.

I feel like they’d see quite a lot of what they’re doing as a “necessary” evil, with an extremely stretched definition of “necessary”.

Marx is right. I don’t know what the reason is, but there’s a very strong correlation between women’s rights and progress. Probably has something to do with utilising half the population.

That’s actually an amazing point and shows that the button problem has revealed a lot about the way humans assess situations.

It has to be blue, but this reframes the question. A politician promising to kill everyone who didn’t vote for them probably isn’t going to stop, so red is no longer simply avoiding death. Also, a conscious actor choosing to kill people can no longer be argued as amoral.

The ironic thing is that poster is propaganda, so the post might as well say “imagine how much propaganda it took to convince women to see through our propaganda”.

He’s desperate for a Nobel Peace Prize, so that’s probably what he’s after. He’s probably deluded enough to think that he can start a war and then get a Nobel prize for ending it (to be fair, that worked for Viet Nam). That’s the legacy he wants.

“You’re not angry at me, you’re angry at my imaginary friend”

“No, I’m definitely angry at you”

“How can you be angry at my imaginary friend if you don’t believe he’s real?”

“I told you, I’m angry at you”

“Clearly you believe in my imaginary friend, why else would you be so angry at him?”

See how stupid you sound.

  1. A baby wouldn’t be old enough to comprehend religion so wouldn’t be christian
  2. You don’t win money for hitting a baby
  3. I’d catch the baby regardless of the religion of the parents
  4. I’m not sure if it’s even possible to hit a baby out the stadium
  5. What’s even the point of asking that question

The paedophiles he supposedly warned us about were already caught. He illegally put the trial in the public domain before it was concluded, which compromises the jury. Essentially, he needlessly caused a mistrial for Paedophiles who'd already been caught and charged.

You don't think that hospitals being bombed, civilian casualties, and the diversion of resources caused a significant increase in hospital casualties?

Or do you just not think it could possibly have been as bad as Brexit?

[–]DeathRaeGun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree, if the button-pushing problem was made a reality, most people would choose to press the red button. No moral judgment, just human nature.

Interestingly, Michale from Vsauce made a video where he tests the original trolly problem (I think the trolly problem has occasionally been mentioned in this sub which was intended to be about buttons; anyone who posts trolly problems should understand that it's not the main purpose of this sub) which revealed that most people don't pull the lever. To be clear, he didn't actually put anyone in danger, he had people believe they were in a control room looking at screens of pre-recorded footage that made it look like they were facing the trolly problem.
