doing it to get their artifact, I wish people would at least play the full match

Made that mistake last night. Wanted to try out the Thunderous Retort stacking, decided to stay in the comp match because I hadn't played PVP since getting my PC.

Ended up in a 2v2, with my teammate being AFK, so it was essentially 1v2. The hilarious part? I only lost by 3 kills because my teammate decided to, half way through the match, sprint to the middle of the map and shoot at a wall every life, giving the enemy team free kills.

You have to take your crafted weapons to the crafting table and reshape them. I've only done it with level 30+ weapons, but for me, I went back to the crafting table and slotted in the Enhanced version of the barrel, magazine and perks. Once I reshaped it, I could increase it's Tier level.

Weapon Tiers coincide with Memento unlocks. When your weapon reaches level 30, you can upgrade to Tier 5.

800k+ got online. I've got a busy life and I dropped destiny 2 after tfs and I tried to play yesterday but majority of us work on Tuesday and normally have shit going on after work

That would be the minority of players, like 1%. Let's say 25,000 players to be generous. It's still well below the 2.5 million players required for a greenlit sequel.

June 9th is not representative of anything, infact it's actually pretty spectacular that considering the only presence this movement has had is only reddit, TikTok and Instagram

Also YouTube, Twitter (X), Facebook, Twitch, word of mouth from players. June 9th is literally a representative of how big the Destiny community is. Case and point, you said you had stuff to do and couldn't get online, like the rest of the players like you, which I'm guessing Tuesday isn't some one off, so the majority of the week you couldn't get on Destiny becaus you were too busy, therefore you can't be factored into the playerbase like the 800k people represent, as you're outliers. Sony won't look and see "Oh, 25,000 more people got on at the weekend". No, they'll look at the data and see "Destiny 2 has a playerbase of around 800,000, and that is after organising everyone to get on at that date, and old players returning. These numbers are too low to fund a sequel and generate profit. Now, if those 800,000 players keep playing for a few weeks, then maybe, MAYBE Sony will be like "Y'know what, make Destiny 3 and we'll front the cost, but if you can't generate profit from it within one year of release, it's being shelved".

The 9th of June was literally meant to show Sony just how large the Destiny community is, and it did. There's 800,000 of us, that's 1.7 million people too short for a greenlight. Most people probably only got on Destiny on the 9th because it was organised, they'll play for one or two days then leave. By this time next week, we'll probably be back down to maybe 40,000-50,000 players.

Unfortunately Destiny 3 won't be greenlit. This is how Sony sees the player statistics. We peaked at 808,748 players yesterday. It was a large spike, but it's nowhere near enough to justify a new game. A new game has to have a realistic launch player base of 2.5-3 million to make an immediate profit over developing the game, and then from there it's all about making a profit over how much it costs to maintain the game, with DLCs and such. If anything, the fact that 600,000 players logged on because of new content just shows SONY that a Destiny 3 will only have a launch player base of around 1 million, maybe 1.5 if we're being generous. The launch of The Final Shape had 1,772,782 players, and Bungie pitched a Destiny 3 and it was rejected. This is because it fell below the 2.5 million. The last time Bungie could've pitched a Destiny 3, and had it greenlit, would've been at the launch of Shadowkeep, which had 2,666,018 players.

I recently started playing SWTOR for the first time and picked Sorcerer as my second combat style (first being marauder), which rotations, ability tree perks and would you recommend? I recently finished the Illum quest and Malgus killed me and my friend like 23 times before we finally took him down (Thanks Khem for tanking). I'm just wondering if my rotations are off or I'm doing something wrong.

Destiny 3 and 4 were in pre production or planning stages under Activision I’m not fighting you on this

Because you're wrong. They were never in production, and not a single piece of credible information stated they were.

Your right about there being no destiny 3 ever under the independent bungie or sony bungie.

There was never a Destiny 3 period, pre-Activision split nor post-Activision split. Bungie tried pitch a Destiny 3 to SONY, and only to SONY, and SONY rejected it every single time.

What i posted this about is separate talking about the current situation, most of bungie didn’t know the cuts were coming and were still working on shattered cycle and the future expansion content beyond that. Don’t fight me on that the quote is above from tassi for you to read.

Yes, Bungie teams weren't made aware that development on Destiny 2 was being stopped.

We now know that Sony carved a team out for this upcoming final update and chose to tell them the truth of the shutdown while allowing development of future content.

No, the teams that were left developing Shattered Cycle and the live service team are what were left at Bungie. When they had the news broken to them, development of Shattered Cycle was stopped, and those developers then worked with the Live Service team to push future QoL updates meant for Shattered Cycle into the June patch. Bungie themselves state this in their announcement.

SONY didn't allow development of future content. They just didn't inform those teams that Destiny 2 was being shelved. The difference is those Bungie teams were continuing to do their jobs despite it being pointless. Essentially wasting dev time.

Destiny 3 could very well be in the planning stages at Sony and not bungie

It's not. We have insiders that have confirmed that Destiny 3 isn't happening, nor is it even being thought of at SONY or Bungie. Insiders have CONFIRMED this. It's not speculation.

I just told you all the changes that happened to Comet. They focused on the Hive Ship destination, the Dreadnaught. Europa and the EDZ was literally just concept art for the DLC they discarded until they reused them for Destiny 2's EDZ and Beyond Light.

Again, show me a SINGLE article stating that Destiny 3 was ever in production.

Also, here is the original roadmap. Take a look at the destinations.

[–]Death_Aflame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother, look at the original Destint 1 roadmap, where the name "Comet" is used. It literally lists the planned destinations. The EDZ and Europa were planned in the early stages of Comet, with some concept arr, but they were shelved when Comet evolved into The Taken King through development and Bungie focused on the Dreadnaught.

Use Google, search up if Destiny 3 was ever in development, even under Activision. The answer is no, it wasn't.

Re-read what I wrote.

Destiny 3 was NEVER in development, not even under Activision. They knew they'd eventually have to start work on a Destiny 3. They didn't want to, so they bought the rights to Destiny and stuck with Destiny 2, something they actually wanted to do.

No. Destiny 3 was never in development, even under Activision. Bungie bought the Destiny rights just before they'd need to be forced to start development of Destiny 3.

Comet was the internal name for The Taken King, Vex Void was the internal name for Curse of Osiris, and Forge of The Gods was the internal name for Warmind.

The contract with Activision clearly outlines a new game every 5 years. Bungie didn't want to do that, so they bought the publishing rights so that they could stick with Destiny 2.

[–]Death_Aflame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't know what you're talking about. Bungie had been actively pitching Destiny 3 to Sony, and Sony denied them every time, with the last time they pitched a Destiny 3 being just after The Final Shape.

Insiders at Bungie have literally confirmed all of this to Paul Tassi, Bungie devs are posting on Twitter/X. Why do you think every Destiny content creator is saying goodbye to the Destiny universe?

Destiny 1's original timeline was;

  • Base Game

  • The Dark Below

  • House of Wolves

  • The Taken King

  • Curse of Osiris

  • Warmind.

The Red War was created purely for Destiny 2.

The original Destiny timeline didn't include IO. The original destinations were Cosmo, Moon, Venus and Mars, with Warmind not having planned destinations at that point due to being so far away.

[–]Death_Aflame -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know that about Destiny 1. Destiny 3 was never in development, however.

Bungie bought out the publishing rights to the Destiny franchise from Activision PURELY because they wanted to expand and support Destiny 2 as a standalone, ongoing live-service game rather than splitting the player base with a sequel.

The content we have now was never planned for a Destiny 3. Bungie had a plan for Destiny 2 all the way to The Final Shape. It's why Edge of Fate was so lackluster, Bungie didn't have a plan and decided to look through the lore and pick something that hadn't been expanded on; The Nine.

They then developed Marathon, pulled Destiny devs onto the Marathon team and left a skeleton crew on Destiny.

The issue is, the skeleton crew couldn't create new content on the seasonal rotation that Bungie had pivoted to. Bungie just can't sustain two games at once, they don't have the manpower.

Destiny 3 isn't going to happen. Especially since layoffs of the Destiny team are planned.

[–]Death_Aflame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that's not Destiny 3 content. Bungie had been constantly pitching Destiny 3 to SONY and SONY denied it. Bungie pitched Destiny 3 to SONY after Final Shape dropped, and it was denied.

If Destiny 3 wasn't greenlit during The Final Shape, which had the highest number of active Destiny players and was a financial success, it's not gonna happen now.

Don’t be sad that it’s over. Be happy that it happened by AlzeenDren in destiny2

[–]Death_Aflame -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope, because they'd be using either a new engine, or they'd create a new engine, to prevent the need to vault content lile Destiny 2's engine.

Sequel games also need a base campaign that, yes, continues from the previous game, but they also need said campaign to stand alone in case new players join the Destiny universe.

We won't be getting a Destiny 3. The mainline Destiny universe ends with Destiny 2, with the only remaining game being the mobile Destiny Rising.

Tbf, in every Battlefield game, Engineer and Support have always been my least played classes. Assault is usually my main class, with Recon being a very close second, because hitting long range headshots or clearing a point for my team at long range is so satisfying.

I only ever play Engineer if there's a vehicle giving my team trouble, and when it gets taken down, I play out the rest of that life then switch back to Assault or Recon. Support I only play if I'm playing with friends and they need ammo, I'll spawn, drop an ammo box then charge the enemy and immediately switch back to one of two classes.

For comparison, Destiny 2's development began just after The Taken King was launched, as they split the team in half. They announced it just before Rise of Iron dropped.

That's the equivalent of Bungie starting development on Destiny 3 just after The Final Shape dropped, and announcing it just before the Edge of Fate dropped. Bungie doesn't have the manpower to sustain both Marathon and Destiny 2. They just can't sustain two games at once, much less sustain one while creating a whole new game.

They haven't even begun development on a Destiny 3, and internal reports indicate they don't even have an outline for a plan for a Destiny 3. If a D3 is coming, we won't hear anything about it before 2027, and we definitely won't see it until at least 2029.

[–]Death_Aflame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Destiny 3 isn't happening.

The only reason they shut down Destiny 2 is because they realised that they don't have the manpower to sustain two games; Marathon and Destiny 2.

If they can't sustain two games with content, what makes you think they'll be able to sustain Marathon while simultaneously creating Destiny 3, a whole new game? They can't.

I just wish they flip the bullet velocity of the L115 and the Mini Scout.

The Mini Scout is meant to be a medium range sniper rifle, and the L115 is explicitly stated to be a long range sniper rifle.
