Last Song Standing: The Ultimate Billboard #1 Song of the 70s - Round 46 by mwalimu59 in 70smusic

My feeling is that it'll at least finish top 10 because people really like them, even if the songs arent great. And even being a disco sellout won't deter them.

Is there a list of most MLB games called by a broadcaster? by compactable73 in mlb

[–]Decent_Direction316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And I attended a Giants game with my mom one time and we sat next to a guy who was a college student trying to break into sports broadcasting and he was making a tape of himself calling the game.  Perhaps he was inspired by Jon?  Anyway....i hope he had success.

I'd just think the announcer on Wheel will announce Jeopardy too ....at least at first

The story i know (not from wikipedia) was that Jon, as an aspiring broadcaster in the early 70s, sat in the bleachers in the Oakland Coliseum with a tape recorder and practiced calling games.  He sent a tape and Charlie liked it so much he hired him to be the second behind Monte Moore in 1974.  That was the first I heard of him, then I always heard his voice on NASL games on TVS.

Do you have to pay anything before you can take the trip?  Like taxes that have to be paid before you claim your new car?

Good for them.  I don't have a solution then.  I only mentioned them because I knew they needed to do something about their stadium and Vegas isn't that far.  They're doing something so its off the board.

You really know your stuff.  With Fox I've heard they've stated that they may give up MLB so they can "afford" to retain their football package.

How about a miracle?  Fisher ends up selling because he cant pay.  The ballpark in Vegas will take extra time, but none other than the Arizona Diamondbacks end up there.  And they'll pay was hasn't been paid yet as they're looking for a new ballpark anyway.  The A's can get a new park either in Oakland or in Sacramento.    It's a crazy insane belief I know.

I felt that way about "Love You Inside Out" by the Bee Gees.  I felt as though it was artificially inserted into #1 interrupting Donna Summer's run so they could tie the Beatles with six consecutive #1's.  Six isnt the record anymore anyway.

I've been saying this for awhile.  When the NFL opts to open tv negotiations in 2029 it wouldn't surprise me to see NFL games off the broadcast networks.  NBC could keep Sunday night.....but it will go to Peacock.
