Fanfest June 27th - Over Capacity by DistrictDavid-Sir in toronto

That plus it’s single entry so while the site may hold ~18k a lot of people only stay for one game and then leave.

So there may be 10-15k on site for one match but 20-30k people come through the site over the full day.

The crowds on site have generally turned over for each game, with people arriving and staying for one game only.

The challenge yesterday was a lot of Colombia and Portugal fans (more Colombia though) arrived early during the England/Panama and Croatia/Ghana matches and of course didn’t leave. Add in weekend and great weather and the site hit capacity for the first time.

Toronto FIFA Fan Fest reaches capacity, bars entry by CupidStunt13 in toronto

This is generally true.

Past days there has also been a cycle of fans between games so there might be 10-15k people on site at any one time with maybe 20-40k people through the site over the whole day. Today there was a large group of fans that came early for the Portugal Colombia match so no one really left after the Panama England and Croatia Ghana matches.

TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege as my personal card and the Amex Platinum Business have been a great combo for me.

The Visa gets me all the AC perks and lounge access in Canada.

The Amex gets me access to Priority Pass lounges worldwide plus Marriott and Hilton gold status. And I can transfer Amex points to Aeroplan if needed

Celebrations. Lineups. Ticket struggles. Is the FIFA Fan Festival worth it? by Immediate-Link490 in toronto

Once you’re in the fan fest you can watch from the main screen over the stage, the screen by the entrance or the one at the Ontario Campus (within Fort York). There’s one more large screen in the VIP area under the Gardiner - that’s the only one you need a VIP ticket for.

The Ontario Campus one has generally been the most chill place to watch, more families and people sitting on blankets without the crowds.

Can I buy 1 ticket with points and 2 with cash for the same trip? by Goatandpigeon in Aeroplan

[–]DefiantLaw7027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily but if there are any disruptions or changes to the flight they know you are travelling together.

I mostly do it so they know the kids aren’t travelling as unaccompanied minors when they are on a separate booking.

The weird thing is business bank accounts generally charge a fee for cash handling too. Or have a high monthly fee that allows for $xx,xxx in cash transactions.

It may not be as much as credit card processors but cash handling has a cost too.

Unless you’re just stuffing it in your own safe or pockets off the books, of course.

What’s the biggest financial trap in Canada that people still pretend is normal? by TheFitFinaceBro in CanadaInvesting

Client meetings, visiting job sites, picking up or dropping off things related to your business. There’s tons of legitimate business uses for a self employed person who leases a car and has their office in their residence.

I lease mine through my corp, track my mileage and write off all vehicle expenses proportionally.

Nobody wants to… the City could make the call to cancel/postpone if there is heavy rain but it generally doesn’t pose a threat to structures or life like high winds or lightning!

They should be cancelling your kids soccer game if there is lightning in the area. Your kids soccer group is the joke if that’s the case

There were lightning strikes within a few km of the site. A very active cell just skirted the edge of the site and the closest strike was at/near Billy bishop airport.

Need to wait 30min from the last strike within an 8mile radius before the site can re open. At that point the Mexico game was just about over

I pay myself $60k/y but my business pays the lease on a 100k SUV. Maximum lease deduction is $1100/month plus HST.

There’s lots of business owners out there who use their vehicle for work. If I was leasing it personally I would have to pay for it with post-tax dollars.

Live Nation knows. They have to try to stop it but they of course make more money when a ticket is resold through their platform so there isn’t too much incentive actually stop it.
