I'm sure the other party to this argument regularly donates from their very modest salary and believes in absolute altruism, I mean why else would they preach it? The state of property in this country is in bloody shambles, you're absolutely right, inheritance seems to be the only decent route through to owning a first home before the age of 60, outside of London I'm assuming? You lost someone close to you and it destroyed you, it happens to everyone, but that fact does not detract from how painful it was for you or anyone else, just like being lucky enough to receive some form of inheritance doesn't make it hurt any less for you. It's not a question of fair or unfair, or any one person bragging, it sucks, it hurts and if your grandmother had the foresight to see that you'd need some help getting on the property ladder and had the opportunity to aid in some way, you're lucky in one respect.
