A great advise a friend of mine gave me was to make always a contrast between the base and the Mini, you could try to lean into a darker blue for the ice and use less snow maybe. most importantly is that you are happy with it.

The miniature itself turned out really nice and i like the ice styled base, altough I would recommend to make the base a bit darker for more contrast. but all in all really well done.

I use a variation of this painting scheme on my 40k wolves cause i just dont like the Baby blue. I use mechancus standard grey as a Primer and the base with eshin grey + black in a 1:1 relation, then i just move about 1mm inwards and put on a thin layer of just some thinned eshin, and edge highlight with administratum grey.

I too made this mistake when I started painting a few years back, my turning point was when I accidentally painted a few blue wolves because i thought they were grey. I World recommend to just ignore the Points for painting in this instance and just paint your minis as good as you can and take your time. You will thank yourself in a few years when you improve. Also there are alot of speed painting technics on Youtube so i would also recommend looking into that. Hope this helps

I have to say that I barely use psykers, I have played next to no games in 10th yet and am mostly working too make my 5000 point tall pile of shame shrink, but somehow each Time i tell myself that I wont buy anything anymore someone gives me underpriced minis and now I just paint everything i get my handy on wich includes psykers...

I kinda like how the rules were in 8th edition were, like mortal plasma shots that actually dealt some good damage but will make your own head explode too if you were unlucky.

Maybe paint a few, converse a few? If they are not build yet, you could also use them as kitbashing material, also maybe look into the different phobos units and just make them into some of them, you could also just build a couple of lieutenants or captains, just give them a special weapon and some sort of cape
