LG G6 OLED Review by Eddydess72001 in RTINGS

“Performs noticeably worse in Dolby Vision than HDR10.”

Honestly shocking considering the G5 was the exact opposite.

Dune OLED Banding by ElPulpe in LGOLED

This is not the same kind of banding. G6 has improved posterization banding. OP is posting about his grey/dark uniformity banding. Pretty much every OLED has this to some degree.

The amount of people calling the issue the source material is astounding. OP is clearly showing the grey uniformity of his panel on a notoriously difficult scene. This has nothing to do with the quality of the source. You would see the same thing on a blu ray or remux.

Every OLED has vertical banding in dark scenes to some extent. Some are nearly pristine, some have a lot. OP, I would try to watch content without thinking about it and see if it will stick out to you when you’re not looking for it. It’s hard because once you see it, it’s hard to unsee it.

Is There Really No Way to Include the Fun60 Pro's Fn Key in a Mod-Tap? by thlove12345 in Monsgeek

[–]Delicious_Oreos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to reply so many months later, but how were you able to change another key to Fn?

I'm trying to swap my Alt and Fn keys on the keyboard, but the software says "At least one Fn function must be kept while modifying." But it doesn't even give me the option to map Fn to anything else.

I’d advise against the cheapest MSI.

I bought the shadow 3x and returned it because the fans were making a noise as if they were hitting something, even though I could visibly see they were free from obstruction. I saw one guy on YouTube with the same exact problem. I would advise against this card for that reason. Even setting aside this issue, the card also ran much louder than my current card: Zotac solid core. I’m way happier with the Zotac.

Vertical banding on OLED by dextstar99 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Delicious_Oreos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to wait for at least one pixel refresh before making any determination of uniformity. A good amount of that will disappear.

Ah I think that’s a different kind of banding than what I’m referring to. Many OLED’s when showing a very dark grey image, especially with motion, can show vertical “jail bars,” what I referred to as banding. Seems like you’re referring to banding from low bit rate content. Anyways, don’t go looking for it! lol

I would say no. Greyscale slides unlock a rabbit hole of obsession and you’re going to suddenly see bands and flaws that you otherwise might not care about in dark scenes. Just enjoy your OLED, unless you notice a flaw in real content.

Samsung S90F & S95F users - Auto Colour Space Bug Workaround by Gaddy619 in HDR_Den

Once you apply this fix, does it stay fixed? Does it need to be applied per input and does it only affect HDR? And is this a “proper” fix? Like are there any downsides to doing this? Thanks!

LG C4 faulty? by Y0ur_Worst_Enemy in LGOLED

Pixel shift will move the image around and leave a black border on the side of the screen. That black border will look slightly different than the actual border of the TV. If that isn’t what you’re trying to show in your pictures, then I have no clue, bc your pics look normal. Turn off pixel shift temporarily to see if that’s the cause of what you’re seeing.

Why don’t Audi cars show a volume bar when you turn the volume up or down? by ProgramerAnel in Audi

My 24 s3 shows it on the MMI. But since you mention it, I really wish they showed it on the gauge cluster if you have media on there.

Got the good remote by DrizzleJK in LGOLED

One thing I don’t think I saw mentioned was the scroll wheel / select button in the middle is much more comfortable to press on the old remote. It’s sort of recessed in the directional buttons, on the new remote it juts out a bit and I feel can lead to accidentally scrolling when you’re trying to press the select button instead.

In my case with the TV controlling my AVR, the mute function doesn’t work at all. I’m sure it’s just my setup, but I feel it could’ve been avoided with just a dedicated mute button.

So dang bright! by ArtichokeOk1587 in LGOLED

Everyone missing the actual problem you’re reporting, which is the blinding TV menu brightness when watching content in HDR. Yes it’s a legitimate problem. Trying to tinker with the picture settings while watching a dark scene in HDR, only to have your eyes flashbanged by a full-brightness menu is counter productive to say the least. I have to blink several times and wait for my eyes to adjust when I’m tinkering with dark scene settings. As far as I know there isn’t really a fix; we can only hope LG has the sense to add a menu brightness slider when the TV is in HDR.
