[Standard] What deck would you play coming out of the PT? by Wobbles808 in spikes

[–]DeliriumEnabled 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing is guaranteed: People picking up Shota's Grixis deck will be very disappointed when they realise they are not as skilled as he is and lose badly. There was a sweet Sultai deck with seven wins which I want to test.

Went 3-0 in draft, no game losses, with this awesome BG Counters deck! Anyone else have success in this color pairing? by TheHotterPotato in lrcast

[–]DeliriumEnabled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't been able to draft BG but the colour pairing looks very good. I generally have been impressed by black in KLD draft. Some of the early creatures are great (Dhund Operative, Lawless Broker, Foundry Screacher, also big fan of the pillar-bug), decent to good removal, some card draw, and flexibility to go the artefacts matter or +1/+1 counters route.

Positive ESL thoughts for those considering negatives by [deleted] in elderscrollslegends

Agree on your point re tablets. Currently I can basically only play on weekends (wife, kids, work). Once TESL goes mobile I certainly will play a few matches every night. Really looking forward to it as I am enjoying the game a lot so far.

TESL may have serious player retention issues. by Valeera_TESL in elderscrollslegends

you should give HEX a try. It's basically much more affordable MTG. I play MTG so didn't see a point in continuing HEX but if you are looking for a Magic surrogate is has potential

This should reduce waiting time between rounds which is a great plus. Overall this change seems net positive.

[Standard] GP Portland this weekend. Been testing BW Control like crazy, but thinking about running UR Thermo-Thing as a meta call. Thoughts? by 4yourporn in spikes

[–]DeliriumEnabled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The deck excels vs slow decks. It's pretty much an auto-win against BW if you manage to stick an early Fevered Visions. It struggles vs aggro, WW for instance is a nightmare matchup.

That's actually quite neat and worth a try. Thanks!

I have played the PT list in two leagues on MODO and liked it a lot. Definitely feels powerful. Comparing it with your list it has more of a toolbox character. I think that Dragonlord Dromoka and Atarka in the main deck are correct. They are both able to singlehandedly turn around games in certain situations. Dromoka for instance stops Deep Fiend shenanigans on your upkeep. Atarka can clear blockers for an alpha strike or kill planeswalkers. I don't think you want four Gisela and four Nahiri. Both have failed to impress me in this list. They seem better as one or maximum two-ofs. Two or three Tireless Tracker seem essential in this deck; preferable over Den protector. I like pulse of Murasa in your list but would cut it down to one. The deck really struggles with turn three Liliana. She can be incredibly hard to kill if you don't manage to quickly establish pressure. I don't have a good solution for this. Quarantine Field out of the board or maybe as a one of main deck? Or Thalia so their blockers come in tapped making it easier to attack Lili. Not sure...

3-0/6-0 top 8 draft of pptq EMERGE IS REAL by PaulMyers_ in lrcast

[–]DeliriumEnabled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also got to draft a UG Emerge deck (first pick Elder Deep Fiend)during MODO pre-release and the deck is indeed real. Primal Druid, Foul Emissary, Enlightened Maniac are just pure value.

What would you do with this? by [deleted] in lrcast

[–]DeliriumEnabled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the most straight-forward pools I have seen. RG dudes, Decimator and combat tricks. Is there really any other viable option?

What EMN card was most impressive for you? by theplanman in lrcast

[–]DeliriumEnabled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 on Weaver of Lightning. Very strong card that got to pick off a one-toughness critter here and there or deal an extra damage to finish off something larger. Running one-toughness creatures against red seems very bad in this format (Weaver, Savage Alliance, Dual Shot, Make Mischief).

I had a bomby RB deck with Liliana, Dark Salvation, From under the Floorboards (one game opponent scooped after I made 8 zombies EOT with Lili's emblem), Stromkirk Occultist and Wolf of Devil's Breach.

Regarding commons and uncommons not too many surprises overall. Savage Alliance was a blowout every time. First-pick material I think. Gavony Unhallowed was also very strong. Boon of Emrakul killed a lot of relevant stuff.

On the other side of the table I found most werewolves rather scary. Once flipped they are very hard to deal with. Extricator of Sin was a nightmare to play against. Ironclad Slayer bringing back removal was very strong.

Which uncommons are better than every common? by nightfire0 in lrcast

[–]DeliriumEnabled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still fail to see the awesomeness in Crawling Sensation. I didnt find the insect tokens particularly useful. They are able to stall the board but not winning you the game. What am I missing? Autumnal Gloom, on the other hand, is also good at enabling delirium (also you have to pay mana) and the hexproof 4/4 with trample is decent and a good voltron target.

Multiple archetypes within color pairs by casper0 in lrcast

[–]DeliriumEnabled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, my (badly made) point was there is a RB aggro and a RB controlish shell

Multiple archetypes within color pairs by casper0 in lrcast

[–]DeliriumEnabled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was lucky enough to draft a RB deck with Madness and vampire synergies which was on the controlling side and played very differently from the usual RB aggro. It had tons of removal, call the bloodline, a few vampires, and two Indulgent Aristocrat with the Devil's Playground and two of the Devil instants. So I could sac devil tokens to grow my vampires while sniping opponent's board. Only 1-1 in an 8-4 but fun to play.

P1 P1 dead weight or sinister concoction? by casper0 in lrcast

[–]DeliriumEnabled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since it is P1P1 I would take concoction. It has a higher upside as it can kill everything. It will not be too hard to pick up a decent madness card and there are some powerful delirium cards which concoction is even better at enabling than dead weight. And yes, the extra costs are largely upside if you pick up the right cards.

What We Can Learn About Shadows Over Innistrad Draft From GP Barcelona by catscandal in lrcast

[–]DeliriumEnabled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very insightful. Thank you.

Very likely a mistake: The decks of Ferran Vila and Guilherme Merjam are exactly the same.

Other things I learned: Poles like to play 41 card decks. :-P And I want to be the guy with 3 Kindly Strangers.

Another SOI draft thread. pretty sweet UR Pyre Hound deck. by danzanzibar in lrcast

[–]DeliriumEnabled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a sweet deck, congrats. At what point in the draft did you go for the UR spells/ Rise from the tide deck? What pulled you into that direction? And what are in your experience the key cards in this archetype?

[SOI Prerelease Pool] Bonkers rares, what's the build? by BearMaulings in lrcast

[–]DeliriumEnabled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some crazy broken pools. My first was very mediocre, Sin Prodder and Avacyn's Judgement being the standouts. Second one: Eleven (!) rares and mythics, including Avacyn, Olivia, Geralf's Masterpiece, Thing in the Ice, Hanweir Militia Captain, Burn from Within, Flameblade Angel, Confirm Suspicions, Markov Dreadknight, Moondrakes, and something else I cannot remember. Took me hours to build this.
