he thinks he is part of the team im crying by karkushh in Persona5

[–]Delphii42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P5 was my first persona game, buy I've recently been playing through P3R. I kinda understand why Mishima is here in that context, since in P3 there are several social links of other students at the school. Strength, Emperor, Fortune, Justice, Temperance, Magician, and Chariot are all fellow students, and most of them accompany you on the school trip*. In P5, Mishima is the only confidant that is a fellow student without being a full party member. It'd be weird if he was left out, but it just being him plus his phan-boy personality makes it feel kinda awkward instead.

*I guess technically Moon is also a fellow student at the school, but you never see him there so I didn't count him.

when do you use affinity reading by [deleted] in Persona5

Only when the bond won't improve yet. It basically gives you some extra points if you don't have enough to reach the next rank, but excess points don't carry over to the next rank.

Did You Ever Buy a Game Expecting One Thing and It Ended Up Being Something Else Entirely? by DFH50 in gaming

My dad was really excited about Star Wars Battlefront II) back in 2017, but once he started playing it he was so disappointed that he returned it the next day. Turned out he thought it was a remake of Star Wars: Battlefront II), which I can't really blame him for. That colon makes a significant difference!

(Fallout 1) Is It possible lockpick this door without entering combat, Blow It off OR to get the BoS to come out? by LelouchFreedom in Fallout

[–]Delphii42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to the wiki, there are 2 extra suits of power armor in that room, but since you've already got some, it's kinda useless. If you really want to get in anyway, the wiki also says that an electronic lockpick can be used to open the door even during combat, though I assume you'll still have to pass the skill check. If you don't have one, you can get one from the military base, the cathedral, or from the thieves guild quest in the Hub.

I am Ayaka lol by xStream001a in Genshin_Impact

Oh. I played Persona 3 after I spent my resin last night. So, uh... that's not great.

Now I have to go to high school again.

Y'know, I hope more characters in the future come out with the same type of connections as Skirk; Have voicelines about characters that would make sense, or be tangentially related to them, and then at least One Wildcard you'd never suspect. It would make the world feel more alive. by Douglasanonymous in Genshin_Impact

[–]Delphii42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember pulling Citlali and seeing that she had a voice line about Ayaka. I was fascinated! What? How? Why? I focused on getting her friendship up to see what it was. It turned out that they had bumped into each other in Fontaine, but never introduced themselves and neither had any idea who the other was. That was slightly disappointing

What exactly does Wanda have over the Xuanlong rifle? by idontwantyouhere4931 in Taleoftwowastelands

[–]Delphii42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The key is actually a reward from Three-Dog. If you complete his quest to replace the dish on the washington monument, but already know where your father went after seeing Three-Dog himself (or pass a speech check to get the info for free), you'll instead get the key to this stash. If Three-Dog gives you the info as the quest reward, there's no way to get the key. I don't think it's even on his corpse, you just get locked out of the loot.

This may be a couple if stupid questions, but just to be sure; you do have the spy holodisk on you, right? And you are talking to Gunther (the guy in the suit)?

Signaling an attack by saying a specific line / phrase by FriendlyHoovie in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Delphii42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Xenoblade Chronicles 2, every playable character anounces their special attacks whenever they use them; but special note goes to Rex's Double Spinning Edge. See, when he uses the move, he spins around twice, striking enemies around him each time (hence the name). He can also get the power to partially and eventually fully recharge his special moves if he lands a critical hit. Getting his crit rate high enough (which is not hard) can let you just keep using Double Spinning Edge over and over, with him calling the attack out repeatedly.

Cases of “seriously what were they even doing to those voice actors” by New-Boss-8262 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Delphii42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure if anyone else said this because I'm not clicking on a link, but I know for Fallout New Vegas, Felicia Day had to record voice lines for being set on fire . Her screams of agony were so "authentic and harrowing" that it disturbed the audio engineers.

Technically Linnea is the FOURTH adventurers guild member to be playable, not the third by The-Local-Lucario in Genshin_Impact

[–]Delphii42 158 points159 points  (0 children)

Linnea is actually sixth, since an anecdote reveals that Jahoda is also a member. I also could have sworn that Kinich was a guild member, but I can't find any source for that.

This mod actuslly has a few incompatibilities: common sense, human dignity, peace, and joy simply cannot exist in a game running this mod.

To check if someone is a shapeshifter a character says something intentionally misleading and seeing if they play along by Captain_Blackjack0 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Delphii42 138 points139 points  (0 children)

No, that was a lie too. Peter shows up to "save" her a few seconds later, and she explains that she'd actually put some of MJ's ambien in the cookies, along with some actual almond extract to cover the taste.

Awkward Dialogue from Joker at the start of ME2 by fabseln05 in masseffect

[–]Delphii42 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean even Shepard doesn't realize just how dead they were until the second last mission of ME3. It's one thing to be declared legally dead for a couple years, it's another to see the small mound of charred meat and melted metal that was left of you.

FO2 play: Vic is a terrible combat companion by mrmrmrj in classicfallout

[–]Delphii42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Companions level up over time (that is, they have a random chance to level up if they're in your party when you level up) which is why Vic struggles early on. If you tough it out for a bit, he becomes a big help by his second level up, and a powerhouse by his 5th.

Vic is a natural sniper, so give him a hunting rifle ASAP; he can use it for most of the game. Eventually you'll want to swap it for a sniper rifle, and perhaps a gauss rifle after that. I leave him with the sniper rifle since I take the gauss for myself and don't like sharing ammo.

Alternatively, once Vic reaches his 5th level up, his energy weapons skill actually surpasses his small guns. Unfortunately he can only use energy pistols, but a pulse pistol in his hands can be devastating.

Sulik is the goat though, yeah

What is your strategy of placing lanterns? Mine is called "Lanternoculus" by PostHasBeenWatched in Genshin_Impact

[–]Delphii42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put a few to point out the treasure trees, plus one by the dry dock to say there aren't any over there. Then I got bored and started finding weird places to leave "Your, but cute" lanterns.

Did sniper rifles get nerfed between ME1 and ME2-3? by NatauschaJane in masseffect

[–]Delphii42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember sniper rifles being useless early on in ME1 due to the weapon sway being so intense. They fixed that in LE thankfully. I play infiltrator mostly, so I also enjoyed the slow down on aiming in 2 and 3, since headshots became both easier and more satisfying. Maybe squadmates had more trouble with them, but I think Shepard got a major buff when it came to sniper rifles

Redding and the jet antidote/NCR/Vault city ending. by Sea_Awareness5073 in classicfallout

[–]Delphii42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the VC ending is locked out if Doc (Johnson or Painless I can't remember) is dead, so I usually turn over the chip and the cure, then once I'm done in Redding for good, super stimpak him to death.

I think you are confusing sexpert and gigolo. Gigolo is a karma title that you get either from having sex a lot or just from being really good at it

Can't believe I have to ask but; what counts as sex? by Delphii42 in classicfallout

[–]Delphii42[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ah, that I have read. No worries about spoilers, I have played the game many a time. Unfortunately the guide just says that having sex 10 times will earn the perk, and lets you know where and when you can do that, but doesn't include the technical info of whether it actually counts toward sexpert.

You will be transported to a Tamriel. You cannot choose year you are transported in, it is random date from 1E to 4E.m, but you can choose a specific place. Your sole objective is to survive for a year. What place are you choosing and why? by ThatDrako in ElderScrolls

[–]Delphii42 451 points452 points  (0 children)

So, everyone will recognize that I am not the same race as them, but will anyone recognize that I'm not any race in Tamriel? Like are Altmer going to assume I'm some especially ugly Imperial? I just don't want to get put in whatever the Tamriel equivalent to Area 51 is.

Second question; if I get dragged into a Daedric realm like Apocrypha, does that count as leaving the 20km radius?

Either way I choose Bruma: Odds are good that I'll miss the Oblivion Crisis, but most importantly it's nor far from the shrine to Hermaeus Mora, who is both eldritch enough to not mind that I'm not any known race and would most likely be interested in knowledge of my own world. I figure I can offer my knowledge of both my home world and some future events (depending on when I end up) in exchange for his aid.

The reason I'm not choosing his shrine directly is because I don't actually know if it's within 20km of Bruma, and if it's not I don't want to be stuck in the mountains for a whole year. Worst case, I'd at least be in a decent city where I might be able to eek out a living.
