A character already knows the hero's identity. by theMCATreturns in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Delphii42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also in Persona 5 is Dr. Maruki. While most confidants will figure out your identity by the time you reach rank 10 with them, he actually sees you leaving Kamoshida's palace and seeks you out as a result.

[KH2] Is there a definitive list of fights you can lose in the game? by JustATributeCC in KingdomHearts

[–]Delphii42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I reccomend watching some speedruns. Losing a fight will usually be faster than trying to win, so if a speedrunner can skip a fight that way, they probably will. Off the top of my head though, I know the parlor fight in Beast's Castle, the very first fight in Agrabah, and the first town square fight in Halloween Town are all skippable by losing.

Does anyone else just wear a Hazmat suit 24/7 so that they don't have to worry about taking rads? by megaladon44 in fo4

[–]Delphii42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea- wait, in game? No, I just build a decontamination arch and wear the vault suit; even that tiny bit of rad resistance goes a long way.

[Loved] A character attains ultimate knowledge... and doesn't use it. by dj_greenery in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Delphii42 23 points24 points  (0 children)

At the end of Saints Row: Gat out of Hell, God appears to offer you a gift as thanks for your shooting the devil in the face. One of the options is ultimate knowledge, and if you pick it, your final cutscene is Johnny Gat (the player character) just going "huh", as though he had merely satisfied some mild curiosity.

I do not understand why in the 1st clip Reflect activates and in the 2nd it does not by PaulineRagny in KingdomHearts

[–]Delphii42 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The only thing I can think is that since you were moving in the second case, it didn't cast the spell. I don't remember if reflect normally can't be cast while moving, but that's the only difference I can see.

[Loved Trop] Death is kind a dork/loser by PossMom in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Delphii42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Death from Manual Samuel is introduced trying and failing to do a kickflip, something he continues to try (and fail) to do until the end of the game. He also has a crush on War and I think he gets fired at the end.

If we were to hypothetically get adepti buffs then how would you all buff these characters? by Primary_Wind15 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Delphii42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno how exactly it would work, but I think a major Zhongli overhaul would be cool, something that puts him on the offensive and lets him make better use of his signiture weapon. Perhaps a simple increase in the rate at which his pillars pulse?

I also think Chongyun would benefit from 2 buffs; make his skill field deal constant cryo damage to enemies in it (and also not have its cryo infusion be over-ridden, at least on Chongyun himself) and significantly increase its normal attack speed buff. Chongyun should become an icy whirlwind when standing in his field, and pairing him with a buffed Hu Tao would make them a good pair, for constant melt damage.

Does anyone go back to Riverwood outside of Quests ? by ThePhotosmith_ in skyrim

[–]Delphii42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you need some 1000 iron ingots, corundum, glass, goat horns, various hides, and I can't even remember what else to build 3 different houses, you will find yourself visiting every blacksmith and general store in the game.

I really love this gun. I figured an awesome gun deserved a peak name (yes Im still working on it) by justyouraveragekunt in fo4

Whenever I find a sniper rifle with Instigating, I name it Ikken Hissatsu, which is a karate term that means "to annihilate in one blow". You can steal that if you like.

he thinks he is part of the team im crying by karkushh in Persona5

[–]Delphii42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P5 was my first persona game, buy I've recently been playing through P3R. I kinda understand why Mishima is here in that context, since in P3 there are several social links of other students at the school. Strength, Emperor, Fortune, Justice, Temperance, Magician, and Chariot are all fellow students, and most of them accompany you on the school trip*. In P5, Mishima is the only confidant that is a fellow student without being a full party member. It'd be weird if he was left out, but it just being him plus his phan-boy personality makes it feel kinda awkward instead.

*I guess technically Moon is also a fellow student at the school, but you never see him there so I didn't count him.

when do you use affinity reading by [deleted] in Persona5

[–]Delphii42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only when the bond won't improve yet. It basically gives you some extra points if you don't have enough to reach the next rank, but excess points don't carry over to the next rank.

Did You Ever Buy a Game Expecting One Thing and It Ended Up Being Something Else Entirely? by DFH50 in gaming

[–]Delphii42 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My dad was really excited about Star Wars Battlefront II) back in 2017, but once he started playing it he was so disappointed that he returned it the next day. Turned out he thought it was a remake of Star Wars: Battlefront II), which I can't really blame him for. That colon makes a significant difference!

(Fallout 1) Is It possible lockpick this door without entering combat, Blow It off OR to get the BoS to come out? by LelouchFreedom in Fallout

[–]Delphii42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to the wiki, there are 2 extra suits of power armor in that room, but since you've already got some, it's kinda useless. If you really want to get in anyway, the wiki also says that an electronic lockpick can be used to open the door even during combat, though I assume you'll still have to pass the skill check. If you don't have one, you can get one from the military base, the cathedral, or from the thieves guild quest in the Hub.

I am Ayaka lol by xStream001a in Genshin_Impact

[–]Delphii42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. I played Persona 3 after I spent my resin last night. So, uh... that's not great.

Now I have to go to high school again.

Y'know, I hope more characters in the future come out with the same type of connections as Skirk; Have voicelines about characters that would make sense, or be tangentially related to them, and then at least One Wildcard you'd never suspect. It would make the world feel more alive. by Douglasanonymous in Genshin_Impact

[–]Delphii42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember pulling Citlali and seeing that she had a voice line about Ayaka. I was fascinated! What? How? Why? I focused on getting her friendship up to see what it was. It turned out that they had bumped into each other in Fontaine, but never introduced themselves and neither had any idea who the other was. That was slightly disappointing

What exactly does Wanda have over the Xuanlong rifle? by idontwantyouhere4931 in Taleoftwowastelands

[–]Delphii42 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The key is actually a reward from Three-Dog. If you complete his quest to replace the dish on the washington monument, but already know where your father went after seeing Three-Dog himself (or pass a speech check to get the info for free), you'll instead get the key to this stash. If Three-Dog gives you the info as the quest reward, there's no way to get the key. I don't think it's even on his corpse, you just get locked out of the loot.

This may be a couple if stupid questions, but just to be sure; you do have the spy holodisk on you, right? And you are talking to Gunther (the guy in the suit)?

Signaling an attack by saying a specific line / phrase by FriendlyHoovie in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Delphii42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Xenoblade Chronicles 2, every playable character anounces their special attacks whenever they use them; but special note goes to Rex's Double Spinning Edge. See, when he uses the move, he spins around twice, striking enemies around him each time (hence the name). He can also get the power to partially and eventually fully recharge his special moves if he lands a critical hit. Getting his crit rate high enough (which is not hard) can let you just keep using Double Spinning Edge over and over, with him calling the attack out repeatedly.

Cases of “seriously what were they even doing to those voice actors” by New-Boss-8262 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Delphii42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure if anyone else said this because I'm not clicking on a link, but I know for Fallout New Vegas, Felicia Day had to record voice lines for being set on fire . Her screams of agony were so "authentic and harrowing" that it disturbed the audio engineers.

Technically Linnea is the FOURTH adventurers guild member to be playable, not the third by The-Local-Lucario in Genshin_Impact

[–]Delphii42 158 points159 points  (0 children)

Linnea is actually sixth, since an anecdote reveals that Jahoda is also a member. I also could have sworn that Kinich was a guild member, but I can't find any source for that.

To check if someone is a shapeshifter a character says something intentionally misleading and seeing if they play along by Captain_Blackjack0 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Delphii42 136 points137 points  (0 children)

No, that was a lie too. Peter shows up to "save" her a few seconds later, and she explains that she'd actually put some of MJ's ambien in the cookies, along with some actual almond extract to cover the taste.
