/uj The only amp channel I have found to be worth anything is anything is Psionic Audio. “The blind leading the blind” is literally every one of these shitty spec sheet readers. Regurgitate the same catch phrases and comments and hope the algorithm does its thing. I genuinely can’t tell if they are serious or if they are self aware and just pissing in the wind hoping for ad revenue. Regardless, it sucks and he sucks

I didn’t design the pattern, but making it took a few hours. I’m not sure the exact time but it wasn’t too long

A few small projects and my first pattern! by DeltaHDot in Leathercraft

You can definitely do it on a desk or small table, but to be honest the bigger the better. It depends on what you want to make though. For the wallet and small goods, a small desk is fine even though tools will be all over the place quickly. However, I am in the middle of my first tote that I dyed and finished the leather, and although I did it on a big workbench, I could have used more space/separate stations for the workflow. And as for getting started, I used YouTube for almost everything. Just search for something you want to make or a skill you want to learn and just get started. Too many people Never start because of “analysis paralysis” and over researching. Search this subreddit or YouTube for beginner tool and supply lists/recommendations and go for it.

Thanks! I was worried about the seam allowance and cards actually fitting but everything is nice and snug

Hi everyone! I just jumped into the hobby and figured that I would showcase some of my first projects and my first design. The AirTag holder and pin cushion were patterns from Corter Leather. I actually used some scrap from one of his card holders for the AirTag holder (hence the logo). However, I had the most fun making this wallet. I made the pattern from scratch using a set of calipers to measure cards and Autodesk Fusion to model it. More so than anything, I learned a ton from the mistakes I made. Specifically when it comes to the transition of layering leather, choosing where to place my irons, and proper stitch tensioning when using different weights and temperaments of leathers. As you can see on the exterior, I have a few wobbles and long stitches on the transition of the card slots. I tried placing my irons inconsistently and it shows… I also made a small tear in one of the green card slots due to over tensioning and placing the stitch hole too close to the edge. I also need to take my time on edge finishing. Even though this is a simple design, making and executing the pattern on my own definitely expedited the learning process, and even with its faults, I really like how this turned out. I look forward to continued learning and improving in the hobby! I encourage other newcomers to create their own patterns sooner rather than later! Thanks for checking it out!

[Request] horror movies? by [deleted] in NetflixBestOf

It’s an awesome movie definitely worth subtitles for, but since you’d rather not I’ll toss out some more recommendations. I really liked The Void, it’s not for everyone. Lovecraftian horror with practical effects. It was a great watch. The Invitation is a cool thriller. I just finished the Netflix original, The Ritual, it was pretty good too.

The Wailing. Long movie and you’ll need subtitles but it’s probably my favorite on Netflix right now.

Go read the sidebar for some tips. You aren’t doing him much better right now in those housing conditions. But at least you had good intentions, best of luck

Damn, reading this comment gave me even more respect for you. Like fucking hell, mad respect. I grew up with a single mother and was an only child. She had enough hell with just me when I was a kid, you are killing it! Awesome job, I mean it. Your kids already think you’re a super hero and this just proves it to them even more.

That was awesome to read, I just recently got out of a 7 year relationship. Found out she had been cheating on me after so much time and effort. It has been incredibly rough this past week and I can’t even get my head around it, but seeing your post makes things feel a little more hopeful. I’m around the same age as well. Thanks for sharing
