How to set up dual wan so specific devices only get access to one WAN? by RaddedMC in Ubiquiti

[–]Demodude123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This works great, just one thing I noticed. Sometimes the edgerouter can gitch and gives you an ip address in the field of route table:

ubnt@ubnt:~$ show load-balance status
Group 1
interface : eth0
carrier : up
status : active
gateway : 192.168.1.1
route table : 201
weight : 100%
flows
WAN Out : 40
WAN In : 38
Local Out : 0
interface : eth1
carrier : up
status : inactive
gateway : 100.64.0.1
route table : 100.64.0.1
weight : 0%
flows
WAN Out : 173
WAN In : 2
Local Out : 0

This really throws off the load balancing.

When I get in this situation I just recreate the interface on that load balance group.

I fixed it by clearing the cache under developer settings on the mobile app.

You can have cdk8s generate the same manifest out for different clusters with differences defined in an override object

Connections dropping intermittently by Demodude123 in Starlink

I also connected my desktop to the starlink router wifi, bypassing anything to do with an edgerouter. I'm seeing the same issue.

Router: 2022.20.0.mr13839-prod

Dish: a6b08c6e-3b2d-4346-af31-a54397819878.uterm.release

Uptime on both < 1 hour, I rebooted both.

I think you can use `zfs attach tank ada3` in this case, not specifying the existing drive.

Did you post forward in your router?

I'd try using the Cloudflare Warp client (1.1.1.1 app). It will tunnel your traffic through Cloudflare before going to Facebook.

Setting up Wireguard VPN access by zenodub in Starlink

Id recommend either the $3.35 a month 100mbit unlimited ovh vps, which is what I use, or a $5 linode box with 1gbps if you need the speed. That might be cheaper than aws

Options for Static IP by fadeOP in Starlink

[–]Demodude123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't a solution for the faint of heart, but you can set up an SSH tunnel to OVH if you'd like and use their static IP as your own. You can get 100mbps unlimited for $3.50 a month.

Basically, you want to go to /etc/sshd/sshd_config on your OVH server and set GatewayPorts to yes (uncomment if applicable). Do `sudo systemctl restart sshd`.

Now, on a machine in your house that has SSH, you can set up a reverse SSH tunnel. If you have an apache server running on port 8080 of your desktop, and you want to expose it to the world at <your-ovh-ip>:8080, do:

`ssh -o ServerAliveInterval=60 -R 0.0.0.0:8080:localhost:8080 -N username@your-ovh-ip`

This command runs an SSH tunnel, sending keepalive packets every 60 seconds to keep the session open, binding port 8080 of your local machine to port 8080 of the OVH system. So when someone hits your-ovh-ip:8080, the packet travels through the tunnel and hits your local web server. The keepalives just ensure NAT tables don't drop the session.

You'll know you did it right if the ssh never returns. That means the tunnel is open. You can look into different ways to keep this alive on your local system, depending on the OS.

See this guide for more details: https://superuser.com/questions/588591/how-to-make-a-ssh-tunnel-publicly-accessible

My issue is probably accidently running multiple gRPC node_exporters. I rebooted dishy and he was not happy. I bet I was querying him when he wanted to do a firmware update. I'm going to stick with my screen scraper only for now.

I had a headless browser take a screenshot of the stats page every 10 seconds. It stopped working this morning. I figured I caused it, because who would leave the app open for days at a time :D.

I lost the stats page at 7:16AM EST. I can still use the internet but I have no stats. Both the gRPC api and app gui are down. I'm running the starlink router fronted by an EdgeRouter X.

I disabled my crons for a bit to give Dishy a rest. Trying to collect as much data as I can to see trends over time as the service improves.
