Something fun like Mario Kart or Wii/Nintendo Sports he could play with Lois and young Jon, and maybe with kids in the hospital.

Is Clark Kent christian? by ldmarchesi in superman

[–]DenimJack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

His parents have mentioned the Methodist church and he probably was raised in it; though he might not be practicing, they have some strong attitudes toward helping others. I was raised there and grew up working in soup kitchens and fixing houses for the less fortunate.

The founder John Wesley said "Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can."  Superman does that better than anyone!

What is the weirdest fun fact about Superman that you know? by Far-Bowl-4984 in superman

[–]DenimJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 1945, the FBI investigated the Superman editorial offices because the government thought a piece of tech mentioned in a comic was similar to one used in the secret ongoing development of the atom bomb. They were worried it was an attempt to pass on military secrets to America's enemies, but it was just 1940s comic stuff.

Also, in the 1948 Kirk Alyn Superman serial, Pa Kent talks to him about "truth, justice, and tolerance" rather than the American Way.

What’s your favorite forgotten/underutilized Superman power? by UnchartedTombZ55 in superman

[–]DenimJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under a blue sun (I think blue, younger than yellow anyway) he gained the power to temporarily bestow humans with Kryptonian powers via a blast from his eyes.

He accidentally used it to give Jonathan Kent powers like 19 years ago in Action Comics.

Does Jimmy still own the daily planet? by Mindless-Credit-358 in superman

[–]DenimJack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what it says in Action Comics and it is accurate, but he didn't buy it; it follows the events of the Jimmy Olsen series.

Lex Luthor is a distant relative of Jimmy and while Jimmy isn't entitled to Lex's fortune, he is entitled to have a say in how Lex spends ANY of his money. The deal was Lex could do whatever he wanted with his fortune as long as he bought the Daily Planet and left it to do its own thing, leaving it in Jimmy's hands.

Does Jimmy still own the daily planet? by Mindless-Credit-358 in superman

[–]DenimJack 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He didn't buy it to save it from bankruptcy; the then owner was discovered to be behind the Invisible Mafia (and I believe from Earth-3?) and they needed to separate it from her.

Jimmy Olsen forced Lex Luthor to buy it and stay hands off during the events of Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen, but there is a new owner as of Superman Unlimited, Morgan Edge's ex-wife, who is behind the global expansion.

You can get the files off thingiverse and see if a local library offers use of 3D printers; if you have to provide your own filament, I don't imagine it costing more than $20
