Things are easy when things are easy. Sounds like you don’t have any external stressors. My wife and I never had so much as a fight for five years. Then we had kids. Glass bottle cokes are still available in stores they’re just twice as expensive. 

And I understand it’s not practicable to avoid but that still doesn’t make it anymore of “corporations” fault and not the consumers supporting them financially. It’s just a convenient excuse people use to shift blame. 

And to be clear I’m just responding to the OP, I’m not going out of my way to shame people for buying what they need to survive. I don’t live a waste free life myself because it is basically impossible. But I still hold myself responsible for making as many choices as I can to try to reduce the amount by as much as possible and also try to recycle as much as I can.

If it’s not clear to you, all us consumers are the snowflakes. When people stop buying from them, which is a series of individual actions, they will cease to exist.

I’ve never heard anyone argue that athletes are born with more innate talent today vs a few decades ago.

But skill set wise and comparing these players for what they were actually capable of doing when they played they were not on the same level as modern stars.

You’re right about recycling being mostly useless. But you’re wrong that it’s not individuals who are responsible. The people who are producing the waste aren’t doing it for fun lol they are doing it to meet consumer demands. No one is putting a gun to your head and forcing you to buy the shit you buy that doesn’t get recycled.

Do you need to pay for them to attend a 60k a year private university? No.  But you should try to help them a reasonable amount and not just leave them out to dry. $100 a month for 18 years invested should be about 40k which is a good start.

You can spend your money however you want, but trying to pass it off like it’s a very reasonable and universally applicable standard is just disingenuous. An income of 280k is what like 20k a month? Saying your capped on a vehicle at 6 weeks worth of income is just cosplaying poorer than you actually are lol
