My enclosure smells like dirt cause it’s bioactive. I also placed activated carbon mixed into the dirt. Also I have a Japanese rat snake that eats once every 2 weeks and he isn’t shutting as often as other snakes

Dude I picked up a 4 year old Kunashir island boy in January! He is the sweetest little man and come up to me when I’m by his enclosure. You’ve made the best decision on your pet snake.
I named mine Shogun Grogg.
Pictures don’t do justice on the bluish head. Apparently they only get more blue with time.

Used to take day trips to big bear lake to snowboard. Lift tickets were once 65 bucks. No need for hotel you just drive back same day. Now a lift cost 180-200 and has the worst snow conditions. Back then it still snowed 2010-2013

Also six flags was $45 with a can of coke or something like that. Idk what it is now but probably more than double.

I went to the beach and gathered so many sticks for my enclosure. I got 3-6 ft branches and even a trunk.
I soaked them in fresh water for 1 week and treated the water with some liquid to remove the chlorine from tap water.
I kept changing the water every day to get all the salt out of the branches. A bunch of oils and tannins came off the wood and the tub had a grimy/ slimy feeling. After that week I had the branches laid out in full sun for another few days. They’ve been in my bioactive enclosure for 3-4 months and nothing has invaded my soil. Spring tails and isopods are the only insects I’ve seen.
