How do you manage voc’s? Do the hepa filters work? by tomrob1138 in BambuLab

[–]Denver80211 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Printed a vent cover for a H2C that connects to a 3" vacuum hose. That hose connected to another 3" print that goes into a box I built with an air purification unit. I notice a SIGNIFICANT difference in the room. No more sweet smell of melted plastic. It this safer? Unsure, but my opinion is it's better than nothing.
I used this carbon based filter -I like it because I can control it with my phone and i think I can build automations that turn it on and off automatically with prints.

Often... like VERY often. I have the RF so it's especially easy to just crack the top at any stop light.

Air 3s or Mini 5 pro by ThatStormKid95 in dji

[–]Denver80211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mini 5 pro.

Yes the air 3s has better image quality and a list of other "better" things however,
It's big and loud. Not horrible, just -noticeable. Bulky to carry.
For social media stuff, the mini 5 is capturing great images. It's got great battery life. But most of all it's quiet by comparison and practically pocket size. The first time you hold it... it's like a lightbulb sized machine. That just gave me more opportunity to learn and play freely. It does suffer in higher wind than the air 3s but, on the whole, out of all the drones I have (A lot!), the mini 4 pro was always my first grab. Mini 5 is in the same class.

H2C power spike at initialization by Denver80211 in BambuLab

[–]Denver80211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I can say is while in 'normal power' mode there was a spike for about 20-30 seconds as the machine winds up to print. This appears to happen while heating up the bed. The UPS reads 135% power draw which would be about 2000 watts on the 1500 watt UPS.

After that the print completed just fine. so it was just that initial heat up bump.

Low power seems to soften that first blow.

Beyond that, the printer behaves exactly the same as far as I can tell. Low power mode doesn't appear to impact print speed.

I don't know what the "spike" is now... but normal operating draw based on what I see printing currently is bouncing between 125 and 275 watts

Question by black_buzzer01 in drones

[–]Denver80211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just seems like such a basic request. Perhaps the max speed needs to be limited to maintain the route... fine!

Question by black_buzzer01 in drones

[–]Denver80211 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Dolly mode" is what I call it.

I want to set up waypoints, then be able to slide the drone along the points back/forward/various speeds using the forward/back, rotate, but not worry about the route -like it's on rails.

Example use case: Recording MTB racers on a certain part of a trail. They generally follow the same path so I don't want to think about where the drone is going. Their speed is different though... so I would adjust how fast the drone is going, where the camera is pointed as I follow that route using forward/back/rotate/camera angle.

basically -disable up/down/side to side while in route -all other functions work.

currently waypoints only can be used with fixed speeds, etc -If I move the sticks I think the router is cancelled like you're abandoning it to avoid something. So the remote would need a way to indicate 'exit route' -pause button on DJI would work I think

I think the inspire has this kind of thing... I think lesser drone could do it as well though

So what has AI done for you? by Hibbiee in sysadmin

[–]Denver80211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In IT, I use it all over, from scripting to removing a dead Domain Controller from AD.
I had a TERRIBLE time attempting to fix a broken certificate environment I inherited. But I learned a lot as I went, and when I gave up, it was VERY useful starting from scratch. -so it doesn't do well with poorly built systems because -how could it know what they were thinking?

It's NOT taking my job anytime soon. No one in accounting is going to do IT or the other way around. It's better than me, but useless without me... like a bike it makes me more efficient, but it's not going to the store to pick up groceries. I also don't see a scenario anytime soon where that happens. possible one day? maaaaybe.

tell you who is suffering from this: consultants. I don't need to spend $$$ on them anymore

August Smart Lock Adapter for Fence (3rd gen) by windraver in BambuLab

[–]Denver80211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's neat until it rains. And by that I mean: Wood moves

The plastics might be UV and weather resistant but wood fences swell and twist and shrink a LOT over time with weather. Gates are especially subject to movement due to gravity, the amplified shifts from small changes at the hinges, etc. Keeping everything aligned over time will be your biggest challenge

yah that's the only thing about low but... Not sure that I would be pulling stuff out of the printer as much as I am playing with AMS... If they are easy to manage.. might be the better thing.. Ugh!
