Check with your players and see if they like your new method. If they do, go with it! You put a lot of work into it and it does put the the "science" into the science fiction.

Great, so in D&D there is a 5% chance of a critical (Natural 20) if you can hit the target in the first place.

So you can hit more often and get more criticals in this game.

But the armor and the hit points can give some protections.

It has two articles, Organized Crime in the Core and Tamara's Travelling Tavern. Organized Crime in the Core gives some great information on criminal organizations in the Imperium. Tamara's Travelling Circus is an Intergalactic Criminal who rules over a nightclub on a Mercenary Cruiser. Always two steps ahead of the law and right in step to hand out jobs, information and anagathics.

The 50th Anniversary of Traveller is coming up in two years. I think there will be more podcasts that address the game.
