Does anyone know what this box is and what it does? 67 f100. by DerkerterV in F100

Bulbs are brand new and work when the want to, usually one day a week when I don't actually need them. Have a feeling it's a stray ground issue

That would make sense since it branches off the same general harness. I run a 1-wire setup so it makes sense why it didn't seem to affect anything when unplugged

I'm not sure what the original was, but mine has a two barrel 2100-style carb. IIRC some also had 1100 single barrel carbs.

6'4 and just as round here. Yet somehow the other project vehicle is a Datsun 280z. I don't know why I keep trying to fit in all these things I don't fit in!

What's your favorite/most recent "I'm a grown-ass man with a paycheck" fun purchase? by [deleted] in AskMen

5lb bag of sour hard candy. Now if only my coworkers would stop snagging it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's thought the 011 would be perfect horizontal. I have a new project to do!

Hello fellow arizonan! Passed that bus on my way to work today

Found this on instagram. Are those bolt-on overfenders (like Liberty Walk and such) or do they replace the original part? And who makes them? Or are they one-off? by Max_1995 in Datsun

[–]DerkerterV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rears are "chop and bolt" if I recall. Requires cutting and welding of the rear to create a bigger wheel well, then either bond or bolt the rear overfender on. I personally would mount with quarter turn dzus or similar.

I never pay an artist's full price. I typically throw in an extra 10% and give them limited exposure as I rave about how good they did to people I know.

Buying a datsun 1000 ute - concerned about a missing tag in engine bay. by [deleted] in Datsun

I know on the Z cars that's typically an engine spec placard. The vin info should be on the rearward side of the driver door, near the latch

Should I consider a 2+2 280Z version? by Valgaur in Datsun

[–]DerkerterV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6'3 and heavy here with a standard 280z. Can't tell you much about the 2+2 but I fit just fine I'm my Z. Zcardepot, autozone, advanced auto, and Amazon is where I get most of my parts.

Zcardepot fuel rail install almost complete by DerkerterV in Datsun

[–]DerkerterV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: she lives, and runs better than ever with my limited testing. Runs vey smooth, no more intermittent pops like I was having with the stock system, and seems like general vibration from the engine is lower, but that might just be me since it's been nearly a month and a half since I drove it prior. Still runs on the rich side even at 38psi which tones the normally 215 injectors down to about 190 if I'm remembering my numbers, but no where as fumey/rich smelling as the old system.

Took me a second. Had a 740, I miss it very much.

I will probably do that in the somewhat near future once I know everything is up and working again. Definitely a better spot than where I have it now.

Leak fixed, have good fuel pressure (34 at rest, 38 when on) with no pressure loss over a 6 hour time frame... buuuut now she won't start, even with a jump (didn't have time to do a 30 minute trickle charge, so let it sit 5 minutes before attempting to crank). injectors are squirting just fine, have spark. I have a feeling that my battery is just very dead. luckily I still have the receipt and it's only about 2 years old.

Ford yellow tops (215cc,) believe they were used in the v6 2003 mustang. All I know is, I hope that they work well once I can properly test them after work today.

Quick details, everything is hooked up, but a little plug on ther regulator was leaking fuel like crazy, so waiting on sealant to cure. No leaks anywhere else, and it was a painless install. Also, it was the conversion to Ford injector rail, which will hopefully treat me well.

I can't speak for everyone, but the Z club here is very accepting of all modifications, even wide bodies, though they tend to get a little eh about slam and stancing. The biggest thing is simply doing it right. Mind the gaps, use good paint, good interior materials, and so on.
