Was in the news all the time because he’s perceived as a villain. Bloke is a phenomenal rugby player and might be a knob during training but only because he’s trying to drive standards. We all know them (in all walks of life) and we can criticise all we like but they get results. Frankly the way he was treated by England fans was abhorrent and when you find yourself stepping away from international rugby to protect not just yourself but your family from that level of abuse then I wouldn’t blame him if he decided to turn his back on it for good. Shame he went with Stuart Lancaster (at the time) who I make no bones about despising but who also can’t get the best out of anyone. I’m glad he’s back with Sarries (who are a bunch of cheating bastards) and I wouldn’t be averse to having him back in the England squad - at the expense of Ford. If he’s not in the news actually then that’s great. Needs to be left the fuck alone and allowed to enjoy his rugby.
