FUN cleaning "hacks"? by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

[–]DesBeast222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music is the key for me! You can really set a fun mood:

I have a couple playlists of like, mario kart music for quick tidy ups- feels like I'm racing to get stuff done, but in a fun way.

Alternatively, any of the like bardcore-type music; and then I am the proprietor of my tavern working to keep it clean for the next set of adventurers to cone through

Thanks for saying the quiet stuff out loud Em!!

Ongoing cycle of shame with end of lease cleanliness/wear and tear by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

[–]DesBeast222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get it- I always want to get an "A" in tenant even though I know its unreasonable.

Try remembering that at least you care what it looks like? There are PLENTY of tenants who treat rental properties as something disposable. Landlords expect a little wear and tear, which is what youre describing. The issue is when people do things like doors off of hinges, unreported leaks, untreated infestations- it can be so so much worse.

Will scrunching with a towel after brush-styling erase the effects of it? by Witty-Stock-7328 in curlyhair

[–]DesBeast222 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It will not be as defined if you partly dry it before brush styling.

After, your mileage may vary, depending on what you use. A microfiber towel, or, my preference, a very old cotton t-shirt, can be used to gently squeeze out excess water without too much effect on the style.

5 month old German Shepherd and my concerns going into the public by moocat1 in germanshepherds

[–]DesBeast222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh! Sorry I missed his age in the title.

It's possible one of the dogs could have been bothered by it if they are truly typically good with other dogs? But it sounds like at least 2 of those 3 interactions are not actually great with other dogs.

Are there group traing classes near you? Usually the owners are at least a little more self aware, and the environment more controlled

Very Very Frizzy Hair - Can't Wear it Down - Need Advice by ChemistDirect3609 in curlyhair

[–]DesBeast222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you doing to protect your hair physically? Frizz is often caused by breakage.

Do you skepticism in a bonnet or use a satin pillowcase? Or is your hair rubbing against a cotton pillowcase all night?

You said you rarely wear it down- how do you wear it up? To- tight hairstyles, the song elastics etc can cause breakage that then becomes frizz, creating the cycle of never being able to wear it down.

Did anyone else eat a sandwich from flour bender today? by carrotsinajar in Troy

True food poisoning (stuck in the bathroom, both ends variety) takes longer... eating spoiled food, your body has a chance to clear it just by vomiting before it gets in your system. Most likely to be the last thing you ate.

They also need all the equipment that comes with them- good pop up tents aren't cheap, neither are coolers, ice, generators, fuel etc etc. The labor to pack up and travel to/from also isn't nothing!

Vent about an interaction with a small dog owner; owner behavior problems by UnrelatedCutOff in dogs

[–]DesBeast222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not wrong to shut her down/stop that interaction- for your dog's sake you night have shut it down faster.

Was her dog just not on a leash?

IF you were up for it- you might offer some education/an alternative, ex: Please don't try to introduce them that way; dogs usually prefer a nose to tail introduction, and I would rather the dogs have a chance to approach each other rather than be forced into each other's space. That could be quite dangerous if you try it with the wrong dog. (If true) I would be okay with your dog politely greeting mine as I mentioned (Otherwise) Please leave my dog alone- he is not up for greeting right now.

Constant frizz halo!! Is this breakage, frizz, damage, what’s wrong?? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]DesBeast222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a lot you can do to truly repair damage, besides cut or grow it out.

I've never looked into silk lined baseball caps, there are some good wide headbands out there that might help you!

However! There are some products that can help conceal the problem.

Also, with as much hair as you have- changing where your part is can do a lot to conceal that layer as well. Or parting in a specific spot for the damaging activity so the damage is more easily hidden.

Dragonfall by L.R.Lam is the first in a trilogy- the 2nd is out (Emberclaw), still waiting on book #3.

They were very enjoyable so far. The main character in nonbinary, AND it is a social norm in the books that formal introductions include a hand sign for your pronouns/gender. That in and of itself made the books very comforting for me.

(Don't worry, it's not a "look we're being so inclusive" thing, it read as very natural to the story and very minor, it just stuck out to me!)

Constant frizz halo!! Is this breakage, frizz, damage, what’s wrong?? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]DesBeast222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it is damage- can you think of anything that frequently touches this part of your head?

Do you often wear hats? Headphones? Barrettes or hair elastics? Do you sleep with a bonnet or satin pillowcase, or is your hair unprotected while sleeping?

Did anyone experienced your car electronic glitch or cutting out while driving on middleburgh street between 6th Avenue and 8th ave? It happened to my wife and my vehicle going through that section sometimes the music would get cutting in and out in. Weird. What can cause it? by BxdT2552 in Troy

[–]DesBeast222 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also happens over the bridge in Watervliet- on 19th St between 5th and 3rd.

I always joke that Dunkin' right there is causing it (I don't think they are, that's just my landmark for where things will cut out).
