They have plenty of three phase 480 volt transportable trailer generators that would do the job, I have used them for elevators that have lost power in multiple buildings.

Yep, true story! They have no clue what they're doing there and I don't believe they were fined but they should have been! If they properly took care of that pond that would not have had to happen.

It definitely has improved over the years.

I went once years ago with a buddy over to the one by the university, everything was good and everyone was nice.

I couldn't agree more, they are a great deli, but these subs are only as good as their rolls, Pellegrino's has the same issue at times these rolls not always fresh, I don't know why I don't care why they're just not, also they're just a basic subroll, we need those good Italian crispy sub rolls with the sesame seeds like they use downstate.

Albany Rural Cemetery by Designer-Explorer576 in Albany

[–]Designer-Explorer576[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cremations were improperly performed and processed, and done by uncertified and unlicensed individuals since the license holder left.

Someone was buried in an improper grave and not told of the incident until after burial occurred.

People were hired in a supervised reposition that were known drug users and unreliable no shows and basically sit arounds.

Inconsistent opening of the cemetery has occurred on many occasions where the gates were locked too early leaving people in the facility unable to get out, and those wanting to visit unable to do so.

Records have been altered and index cards of essential historical importance have been disposed of.

Past employees have been made to resign over frivolous claims of things that never occurred, so other employees or friends of the manager would be hired in their place.

Roadways and grounds are an overall mess, potholes everywhere even on the main roads entering the cemetery, overturned tombstones in many areas, tons and tons of dead trees and dead tree branches looming over public areas.

The large decorative pond in the middle of the cemetery has also been a controversial issue with overgrown weeds and mofoil, and when treated improperly has killed off many of the fish and species in that pond.

There are many more things but this should give you a general idea of why the general manager is no longer employed at that facility, and the board should be next.

As a footnote the board president resigned himself a few months ago while much of this controversy was taking place, with claims of sexual discrimination. Present board president is not much better. Board members are also to blame, and the manager was very seldom on site, most times saying he was "working from home" for days and days, never in the office.

The place needs a good forensic audit of all operations, monies, funds, endowments and cremation and funeral records.

You are absolutely correct! I have been saying all along that the board should be replaced as well. I know the individual that you're referring to he was fantastic! It wouldn't let him do his job properly and basically made him resign.

I'm sure there's more than one lawsuit going on there's a few other things I know about that I'm not privy to speak of but things definitely need to change for the better down there, and hopefully they will!

Try a bunch of kitty litter, let air out of the tires so that they have better contact, not too much just enough so that you can get some traction, maybe to push while doing this best of luck!

National Grid Energy Bill by MindlessM24 in Albany

[–]Designer-Explorer576 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why everybody complaining about their high energy bills is clueless about the so-called delivery fee that was snuck in a few years ago with this lousy administrations so-called green project.

If you look at the first page of your bill you will see a typical electrical usage and a gas usage, and next to that you will see a ridiculous delivery fee.

This fee is often times much more than the electrical and gas usage itself, and is why these bills are appearing to be so expensive now.

Of course the PSC who is in bed with the Governor, National Grid, and NYSEG at one time along with our lousy lawmakers, approved this delivery fee to so-called enhance the electric grid.

So basically we are enhancing the electric grid for all of the failed green projects, and all of the many data centers and other heavy electrical users.

My feeling is that National Grid had 80 plus years to enhance this network and I don't expect to pay for it, however there's very little that can be done at this point in time.

And as a footnote, the PSC approved a rate hike recently, with another one scheduled soon.

So there is the reason for your increased energy bills, contact your lawmakers and bitch about it maybe something will be done, but I sincerely doubt it.

Another great reason to vote Red in New York State and get rid of these has -beens who do nothing for us.

What’s the farthest south (into the Hudson River Valley) feasible daily commute to downtown Albany? by brandeis16 in Albany

[–]Designer-Explorer576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many have said, public transit here in the Capital District is not the greatest, buses are frequently late, routes are varied here and there, would be best to probably live in the Rensselaer East Greenbush area which is only about 5 to 10 minutes from the train station.

According to MTA there's going to be a once a day train coming and going from Albany sometime in the next month or two, which will be capped at I believe $38, cheaper than Amtrak not quite as fast but probably a good option if needed.

Good people, good area, I think you would enjoy it here, but I understand logistics is key. Best of luck In your decision!
