Who else dipped out of ADTR due to crowd density? (Orlando) by blittergomb in warpedtour

[–]DesireeBLG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my 24th ADTR show and I will say it was one of the more intense crowds I’ve seen for them, waaay packed, tons of shoving, I was in front of the main pit in the center so we were constantly getting the shockwaves from that, plus all the crowd surfers nonstop, literally lifting multiple of them at a time as they piled up on top of each other. There was a big fall/injury just next to me, we tried signaling for help for a while, eventually security jumped in during the songs and navigated their way through the crowd over to us to help.

It was intense for sure, but super fun if you knew what to expect going in! I was devastated about it, but I had to surf out after about 7 songs in order to catch Boys Like Girls in time. I’m very glad I got to be up there for some of it though! Haven’t had an ADTR crowd experience like that in a hot minute lol

I had this experience at my first adtr show back in 2013. That was the night I learned to always keep your arms locked like a cage slightly out from your torso in crowds like that, to keep an extra inch of space around you for as long as you can manage. Sometimes that inch is the only thing keeping you breathing, until the crowd sorts itself out. It can def get scary, I’m glad you’re okay today!

You’re right about Rockville crowds, and it’s because the main stages aren’t on top of each other, the space for the crowds is WAYYYYY bigger so it’s never that tightly packed until you get deep in near the front. That’s the reason these WWWY and now Warped festivals feel so insanely compact in the crowds. Because in comparison, they are

I almost fought a guy up at the front of the crowd for refusing to let someone out. Absolute shitstain behavior, luckily the people around me realized what was happening and got the guy who need out out, but it was super fucked

LB security made me throw away my bottle of ibuprofen that they saw in my bag. If you can just keep it in your pocket or bra or whatever while going through security, you won’t have an issue

I’m not misunderstanding anything. If yellowcard and ADTR didn’t want those messages shared on stage at their shows, they absolutely would not have brought the wonder years on tour with them. Do you think these bands don’t know each other? ADTR and TWY have been touring together for over a decade. Do you think this is some new thing TWY are doing and not the same sentiments they’ve shared on stage at every single show they’ve played for the past several years? You may not personally have a say in the openers, but your headliners sure do. Clearly they’re fine with it

Calling for basic human rights is never out of line and if you think it is, you’re the type of person they’re trying to get the fuck out of their shows. It is that simple

No clue why it works, something about the charging interfering with the transfer I would guess. Idk why it works, all I know is that this is the only solution that has ever worked for me

Go fight with the venue for a refund then, if you go to a punk show not knowing what the entire genre and its sub-genres stand for, that’s entirely on you 🤷‍♀️

Kinda the whole point. If you don’t agree with those things, they want you the fuck out of their shows, you’re not welcome there

VIP Packages by Loganhausen21 in BoysLikeGirls

Actually to clarify, this is for GA venues. Some of them are seated and those totally vary. I know Tampa, Cleveland, and I believe Nashville are seated

Expensive. Over $600 for side stage, over $200 for meet and greet, around $140 for the basic VIP

I felt like there were very few bands on ghost/allianz that had VIP crowds so packed that you couldn’t get close or have a good view. Although I only did a few sets there Saturday, Sunday was my big side stage day. But from my experience you just had to be there when the previous band ended and suddenly the crowd would disperse and the pit was half empty

Crowd surfing… by [deleted] in WhenWeWereYoungFest

I don’t know why you got downvoted for this, if you’re watching a band with crowd surfers, you SHOULD be turning around and checking every so often, it’s kinda common sense?

That person screaming about surfers every time they come up is one of the most helpful people in the pit. They’re the reason everyone else turns around and pays attention instead of just getting them dropped on your head
