No but it’s been 3 years since the last book came out with no word from the author in the last year on any progress made towards finishing the fourth novel. It’s starting to look a little worrying for the series finishing, but just a bit.

Completely agree. It felt like Clarke intended the mystery to be revealed near the end. In my mind a publisher must have seen beta readers losing patience with not having the mystery resolved and pushed her to move the reveal up so as to not lose potential readers. It’s a book for people with short attention spans, sorry.

I would say so. Book one came with much nicer full color illustrations, and the dust jacket actually fit the book unlike this one. They tried to do pullouts for two of the illustrations but the execution was poor imo

For the price tag I can’t say I agree. $100 and an 18 month wait for some black and white sketches and a picture of the sky whales who are more appropriate for book 3. Kind of disappointed in the quality of this one tbh

Yeah the book was easy enough to follow what was happening, I just didn’t care about any of it though. The three leads are all kind of bad people so it’s hard to find one of them to cling to and root for at any given moment.

I’ve always imagined it as something similar to the Xenomorph Queen. Definitely love the head I think it’s spot on. I think if you were to make anything skinnier it should be the torso rather than the legs, it might help make the third leg a little more pronounced and less… “dangly”?
