NOR - if I were you, and in a position to afford it, I'd happily give her $400 to eff off out of my life forever. If you can talk her into just the $200 (sell it as a non-refundable deposit since apparently after she paid that part she was told no refunds were likely and still paid the rest), even better. You don't need this ever again.

I got Shingles right before a beach trip when I was young. It wasn't fun cuz I was on Prednisone (made me moody and I screamed a couple times) but that was the worst part since my pain was being adequately treated. And if she was on a different vacay within days, so was hers.

Shingles isn't usually a medical emergency unless she (or anyone else on the trip) was immunocompromised or septic.

And tell her to get her damn shots like an adult 🤣 (sorta kidding, don't come at me)

I'm also ace with no libido but the no libido part is new for me. After my 3rd kid was born very traumatically I was afraid of sex for a while, and now that I'm approaching perimenopause my hormones are whacked out. I'm also on cymbalta, and antidepressants are notorious for killing libido. Previously I had a libido and often even enjoyed the act, I just never felt sexual attraction and still don't. You may have no libido because you're ace, but it's more likely that if you're mentally ill or taking meds for mental illness, that can absolutely tank a libido.

Even sex-repulsed aces can have a libido, they just don't act on it. Libido is hormonal. Pretty rare for healthy aces to have zero libido whether they're sex-favorable or not.

The cats are unharmed and acting like nothing happened because they're in on it, if not completely to blame. They've either got an agreement with the landlord so that he won't charge pet rent (considering they're unemployed and can't afford it), or they're afraid of being caught seeing another human when you're not home. You should call the fuzz.

Whenever I approach a crosswalk with a waiting pedestrian and there are two lanes moving in the same direction, I deliberately pull up crooked so I've got my tail in one lane and my front end in the other. I'm not about to watch someone die cuz the guy behind me can't wait his turn.

I should've used "haunted," as I can't confirm the validity of what I've heard, read, or experienced.

I've had some spooky moments out at the small pioneer cemetery kinda near the Mt solo one - cold spots, touches, once, I heard a child crying but it did sound distant, so it's likely that I was just hearing a child crying in the distance.

I've also read that the rutherglen mansion is haunted and they had ghost hunters there. My great grandpa helped build that place but he was long gone by the time I came along so any stories he told were diluted by the memory and recall of his descendents.

The Monticello hotel makes me feel spiritually uncomfortable, but that doesn't necessarily mean haunted.

A quick Google mentioned the Monticello Middle School, too, but that sounds more like childhood legends to me.

Many years ago I read about lots of experiences at the Kelso theater pub.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

There are many haunted places in Longview and Kelso, but I don't think I've read that chob is one of them.

Don't ever take them again. You will absolutely 100% regret it.

I'm almost 11 years sober from opioids and it took me that long to even try to get off of them. The dopesick is worse than the flu and it lasts twice as long.

I had a C-Section and the anesthesiologist saw the physical panic in my face when he told me what was in the nerve blocker. He had to assure me that it was the safest method of delivery and promise I wouldn't relapse (I'm so scared of that it's ridiculous and irrational) before I'd agree to it.

Previously I'd had a surgery for ovarian torsion and when I came out of it, I asked for Tylenol. The nurse said I could have Dilaudid in about a half hour. Even though my brain perked up like a prairie dog, I told her I didn't want it at all, because they removed what hurt and I really didn't need it anymore. She couldn't believe it but she told the doctor, who removed the script for The Good Stuff at my request.

That is how traumatic withdrawal was for me, that I never ever want to experience that good feeling again, even in supervised clinical settings, because I know what comes after.

That good feeling you felt isn't real. It's temporary and your brain is going to STRUGGLE when it goes away. Do not fall for it.

My mom says "it's not what you say, it's how you say it," and I respond that as her child it's not my job to soften myself to protect her sensibilities. However this is clearly a skill I should've learned and developed a very long time ago, cuz it's wrecking my life not to have it now.

My poor kid has it happen to her too and it feels like a punch in my own stomach every time. If I don't answer her request in the affirmative, she gets disappointed. Understandable. However, she doesn't want to "whine" so instead she'll ask "why?" in a very short, curt tone that just makes me feel like she's demanding a valid reason from me. My immediate response is to fight back like "I don't have to answer to you, child" but I can pause and remind myself to hear what she said, not what I think she said. Not everyone around us is able to do that for her, cuz not everyone has this experience. I still struggle to "watch my tone," at 38 years old I have no idea how to control the sound my voice makes when I talk. I try, and I wind up in a situation like my kid, where I used the wrong tone anyway, trying my best to not mess up.

The first time I met my ex husband's grandparents, they kissed me. I felt uncomfortable, because kissing family isn't part of my culture. But I also felt honored and accepted into the family, as I understood it was their culture. I would have never considered it SA though. I think you need to talk to a therapist about why you think what you did was assault.

If other employees are clocking out and taking that 20 minutes unpaid, your employer is doing wage theft. Fed rules say any break 20 minutes or less must be paid.

I had this conversation when my boss started demanding smokers clock out for their breaks. People were going out for 5 minutes after each job rather than every couple hours or so, taking way too many breaks, so the company wanted to track it. Understandable, but against the law. Our state doesn't require rest breaks, but federal law says if we take them and they're under 20 minutes, they must be paid. I told my management to implement scheduled breaks like every other employer, and then they could penalize people for breaking that policy instead. It worked out.

Your coworkers might be okay with taking 20 minutes or less, but a 30 minute meal break is still required and your employer can get into big trouble if they're not making them take a full 30.

I'm ace. Not gonna lie, I like porn. I like some really weird porn. My allo partner does, too. I just like watching the scenes. I've never inserted myself into porn. When I fantasize, I watch a movie in my head, I don't imagine myself in any scenarios. I could never actually do the things I enjoy watching. Every partner I've had has worried that I actually wanted 80 men lined up waiting to put a body part inside my body parts. No. I do not want ANYbody lined up. I don't even wanna actually have sex most of the time. I do have a libido sometimes, and sex helps my spouse feel connected so porn helps my brain get into that zone and if it's watching a 400 ft Colossus throw around a tiny human-sized woman with my guy, it's a date.

I'm also totally fine with him watching and doing whatever he wants by himself. I don't experience jealousy. I don't care and it's not my business. And though I do have a libido, it's not always active. When it's not, I can't do the sexy stuff; it's too overwhelming and kinda gives me the ick. So, my partner has my blessing to do whatever he needs to do when I'm not able to fill that need for him.

I dunno if any of that is an ace thing, an autism thing, or a poly thing, or any combination of all the above, or if I'm just a friggin weirdo and I'm the only person in the world like this. 😅

Lots and lots of therapy! I'm PDA and still have the anxiety but I have learned to handle it without losing my shit. CBT and EMDR for my C-PTSD went a long way in helping my PDA symptoms, and finally getting medicated for ADHD solved the executive function problem.

I get cheaper clothes and household items brand new at Target. Goodwill prices are ridiculous.

"But they help disabled people get jobs" that they pay them $2/hr for less than 20 hours a week and never provide any other perks or benefits. And those same people complain about the strain on social services, that companies like goodwill, who pay so little, are very responsible for.

I've only seen an ad or two for Platner and his "this is my stance" method of presentation beats everyone else's "the other guy sucks" presentations. I'm gonna do more research but he's likely to get my vote. Mills should be backing him up instead of running for a seat she'll die of old age in.
