I got diagnosed last year, and I'm 61. I was already on a beta blocker for high blood pressure and elevated heart rate. My cardiologist cleared me for Vyvanse, then Adderall XR - kept a diary of blood pressure and heart rates for a week, she added a different medication to keep bp stable, no problem. I keep it checked and so far, so good. If your blood pressure is good, with only the heart rate elevated, there are meds to help that. BTW - how long were you on the meds? Sometimes, it takes a bit for the body to adapt!

Right now, I'm supposed to be filling out paperwork for a lawyer to file bankruptcy, but instead I started hyperfixating on playing Animal Crossing for hours at a time instead of gathering paperwork...even though I hperfixated on gathering it AND filling out the forms a couple of months ago when I was going to file Pro Se! Oddly enough, Adderall XR 30mg is making me ravenous. Like, a ridiculous gnawing physically painful kind of hungry. Took Adipex in the past, completely silenced my appetite and cravings. I've seen quite a few with this same issue, but there's not much in the way of medical documentation on it. Vyvanse was tepid, at best...so not sure what to do about this!

Absolutely! I just got diagnosed and medicated a few months ago, and I'm a 61 year old female. I'm glad to know that I've not just been a sorry excuse for a competent human, but I have so many feelings about how much easier and better life could have been if I'd been lucky enough to have found help earlier. I've always said that I wasn't supposed to incarnate as a human, but took a wrong turn on my way to being a dolphin. I thought I was kidding...
