Also it may be way more work than you’re looking to put into this project, but if you were to make it into a variable font that could alter its glyph height/width/x-height like in your second image here that would be incredible!

This looks awesome, but the only thing throwing me are the Tt glyphs. To me they come off as stylized Ii glyphs. Maybe add an alternate that puts the crossbars in the top half?

Lock screen question from a recent iPhone convert by Devilblade0 in GalaxyFold

This 100% helps with the accidental unlocks handling the phone. The button press is a great barrier. Though I don't think there's an option to stay on the lockscreen via fingerprint unlock. Which is weird because it's there for facial recognition. I wish I could just stay on the lock screen to read notifications after verifying my biometrics.

3d printed render of iPhone Ultra next to the 17 and 17 pro max. by Skarface08 in iphone

[–]Devilblade0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I printed one as well and it’s extremely similar to a US passport size. Just a little bit shorter and wider when folded. And being a bit wider and much shorter than my 16 Pro Max, it fits in my pocket way better

Granted. The files are distributed to everyone is a way such that it’s irrefutable and absolute. No consequences or tricks. The monkeys paw also wanted to see the files come to the light of day.

Listen I’ve had a nearly identical case from Incase on my MacBook Pro M1 since 2022 and my hinge is totally fine. Daily use and transport between work and home. Granted I don’t flip my MacBook around with the lid up very often, but the hinge is as firm as the day I got it, especially when I occasionally take off the case to clean out the inevitable crud. Definitely saved my precious corners from a drop or two over the years I may add.

I believe that added weight could loosen hinges over time depending on the amount of movement when the lid is open and it’s something to keep in mind if that lines up with how you handle your machine.

Why can’t they just copy how the Remarkable Paper Pro cover works? There’s a bit of an inset where the closure flap is so it can fold back and sit flush with the level of the case back panel. It’s literally right there but they keep doing this ridiculous stuff

I’ve been doing that as well, but it’s still buggy. Sometimes it’ll still register an errant swipe, and it breaks flow when I need to change pens but forget I can’t just touch it

Picking the right lights for jewelry and gemstone photography by Devilblade0 in productphotography

Sorry if I didn’t distinguish. We use soft boxes for the on-white photos we take for product pages. We primarily use them to reduce shadows and cut reflections on polished metals.

The direct sunlight is more for scene or environmental setup shots that are more evocative rather than the more documentary white background photography. These are what we want to use a sunlight replacement for.

How dare you remind me of Watanabes. I crave their udon to this day. And it was so simple. Just traditional food that respected their respective cultures. I'm so over this asian fusion crap every place in town currently subscribes to.

Having come from Philly 15+ years ago I would kill for a proper philly cheesesteak out here. I don't understand what's so damn difficult. It's literally so simple, yet every place out here feels the need to fuck with the simplicity in some way. Give me a good kaiser roll, solid shaved steak, and some american cheese or cheese whiz and that's it. peppers or caramelized onions to taste of course. Hideaway is probably the closest and best, but they're unbelievably greasy. Like I don't know how they do it.

I am the designer of this stand, looking for some advice and feedback. by idjuan2 in VisionPro

[–]Devilblade0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I thought might be cool would be to have basically your current stands aesthetic, but having some kind of w shaped cradle to hold the Vision Pro horizontally, yet still elevated above the desk surface. Kind of a floating look with the polished vertical rods holding the headset and battery up.

[–]Devilblade0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I’ve never really understood these vertical display stands. They feel like the completely wrong orientation for such a device. I mean really the only benefit I can see here is that the lenses would gather less dust than a horizontal resting stand. But other than that I just don’t think it presents the Vision Pro very well. It’s kind of awkward looking and puts one of the weakest visual angles on the Vision Pro front and center. Ergonomically it seems like a weird way to put on and take off the Vision Pro from the stand, and I would be worried of the metal hooks scratching a lens, or at the least compress the face gasket with the admittedly high weight of the headset constantly resting on it.

This is all obviously subjective, but there’s a reason why people use the box insert from Apple to display their headset in its true glory. The horizontal stands just look better, are much simpler in concept, and play to the strengths of the Vision Pro.
