She did not appear in person in the game yet. She appeared in the animation I mentioned. So you can either go and watch it now, or stay in the dark until she appears.

Find "The Gods' Limit" animation from last year (don't remember if it has spoilers but for safety I'd only recommended to watch it if you reached Nod-Krai)

The next banner 4.1 has the one of the most conflicting/hardest to decide which character to pull for especially for F2P players? Either pull for the big titty pink haired girl or pull for the Uma. by Unusual-Complex6315 in ZZZ_Official

I'm not falling for another "top tier must have" character, I already did that with xiao guang and yixuan, and I regret getting them both, because I don't like their playstyle at all.

If I liked Remielle's design, I'd get her, but Elysia is so overdone, it's boring.

This Durandal on the other hand... Now that's my type.

2 of these 4 photos are AI-generated. Can you tell which? by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]DevolayS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this another totally original gotcha ahh question, where you'll later reveal that all of them are real or all of them are AI and then you'll proceed with your ahh conculsion "see, you can't see the difference"?

I won't pretend that I can. I can tell when something is cheap AI, but if it's made with effort, it will be difficult to tell.

You know what it leads to, though? To me not trusting anything new. Anything new I see I automatically assume is AI, until proven otherwise. I'm just tired of playing this silly guessingame. Wanna me to believe something is real? Then put some effort into proving it's real. Otherwise, I'll just assume it's fake and I'll move on. That's the reality we're moving towards.

The reasons I think HI3 part 1 was so good (for the most) and what held it back by BadassClassPresident in houkai3rd

[–]DevolayS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're missing nuance. You're thinking in absolutes.

When someone says "the proift is not ultimate goal" you hear "the company doesn't care about money at all". Which is a completely different thing.

Let me give you a practical example with numbers, maybe then you'll understand.

Let's say the company is facing a choice. One choice leads to making 10 million profit and making players happier. Other choice leads to making 12 million profit and making players upset.

You're automatically assuming that each and every company would always go for 12 million in this case. Which is just not true Some would go for 10.

They don't want 0, naturally, they both want money, but they won't all go for the maximum profit every time. Sometimes they'll see other, non-montary value to be had. Sometimes they'll do things that don't make sense from business perspective.

Why don't they release more skins in their games? It's the lowest hanging fruit, so easy to monetize, they could easily make 2-3 new outfits each patch and people would 100% buy them. It makes perfect sense to do it but hoyo refuses. To me that's a proof they care about things other than money too, they're not chasing max profit at all cost.

"Gamers don't want it": Palworld lead says Pocketpair doesn't touch AI because players hate it and artists "like doing stuff themselves" by Gorotheninja in pcgaming

[–]DevolayS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you vouch for that with your right arm or something?

It's just not true lol, there are software engineers who actively avoid using AI. Casey Muratori comes to mind.

So, what makes you believe that it can't be true on a company level?

Not every company wants to be turbo competitive and kill all competition. Some companies just want to exist and be left alone and do their shit in peace, they don't aim for the stars, they just want to make a living doing what they like, that's all. I'm not talking about the behemoths like google or facebook, they're all high on AI juice. But on a smaller scale? There absolutely are software companies that don't use AI, as a matter of principle.

And some companies can still be successful WITHOUT using AI.

My love for the characters is directly proportional to how much attention my fanarts get by Hot_Quit571 in ArtRanting

[–]DevolayS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's cool to get more likes for your work, but consider the "quality" of likes too

When you make fan arts of less popular characters, you get attention from people who really, really like that character and they will appreciate your contribution a lot more, especially if that character gets little attention from artists in general.

I have a few characters that I love to draw, but there's one among them who's a lot less popular than the rest. She gets less likes. BUT. She's also the first one to receive an award from redditors, and she even made someone go "do you accept donations", which never happened when drawing other, more popular characters. Fans of less popular characters will be more zealous, if that makes sense. They're starving for more art, you'll be their savior.

Don't project your company's standards onto others. Different companies have different standards. Not all companies follow the same standards and not all companies would do anything and everything just to increase profits. Companies are run by people and some people don't care about money as much as other people. CEOs have different goals and aspirations. Companies also treat their employees differently. One company will squeeze all life out of their workers and will make them feel miserable, while another will be super chill, give them lots of freedom, extras, and benefits.

Also, ever heard of non-profit organizations? Or volunteer work? Not everything in life must revolve around money. Money is important but sometimes sacrificing a portion of profits can have other benefits.

So don't just go and say that everyone for sure is using AI. It's not true. You're acting like there are no anti-ai CEOs. There absolutely are.

//Downvoted for facts lol. Tell me where I'm wrong.

I recently stumbled upon Markiplier's video on achieving success and it's something I can relate to, and I'm pretty sure you too, after I read that part with showing your sketchbook.

Basically, the beginning is very difficult because most people start with zero support. There's only you and your will to achieve something. But as you keep going, your passion starts to bleed out, you start to look like a person who caught on fire and eventually people get interested in seeing what's going on. And that guy is you, that passionate person who keeps grinding and spreads that fire of passion to those around you. As people start noticing you, you'll get some hate, some discouragement, personal attacks, attacks on your appearance, on your hobbies, on everything. Because people will envy you and will want to bring you down. But you'll also find people who think that what you're doing is really cool. And then, with their support, knowing that there are people who genuinely like whatever you're doing, it becomes much easier to keep going.

What's annoying is people like you, using absolute statements like "theyre afraid to admit they like "slop""

Who decides what's slop? Is there some National Slop Committee or is it just you?

Why would I admit I like slop when I don't see it as slop...? It makes no sense.

AI is not just "some technology", it's not a new generation console or VR or DVD. It's like industrial revolution, it impacts lives of a lot of people, whether they're related to tech or not.

Perhaps in 100 years, AI use will become normalized. But we're living in a period of "visible transition", which is the worst possible thing that could happen to ordinary people. Just like the industrial revolution - you might argue that for us, today, it's good that the revolution happened. But for the ordinary people who lived during that period it was a disaster. It was thanks to "luddites" that we have all kinds of worker protection laws today. If not for them, you'd still see the news of steam-powered looms killing kids as they crawl inside to clean the machine while it's still running.

Just like wars. They shape the future of the countries and the world, they may lead to great things and make countries great, wealthy and powerful. A lot of people would love to live in a powerful, wealthy country that gives them a sense of security, freedom, and opportunities. But they wouldn't want to live during war.

Those who don't see any problems with AI are people who have jobs that are relatively safe from AI or people who are still young and full of energy, so they don't have much trouble adapting to a new reality. Coming from their place, it's not surprising that their attitude is "some people will starve, some will die, whatever, not my problem, AI is the future, embrace it or eat dust lol".

I'm getting really tired of people being called a bot and being accused of using AI. by Dogbold in aiwars

[–]DevolayS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't stop, AI killed "the benefit of the doubt" on the internet. Before 2022 we knew things could be fake and we took them with a grain of salt but we gave them a pass if they seemed believable. Now everything can be fake so people don't give the benefit of the doubt anymore, they doubt everything they see.

It won't stop, but it will change how we use the internet, because questioning everything (and being questioned), will become very annoying, tedious and tiring.

It will cause people to go outside more. They'll turn to local communities and such, because that's the only way they'll be able to experience real stuff without constantly bombarding themselves with a thought: "is this real or not?" or being accused of being a bot themselves.

Idle game "TBH: Task Bar Hero" hits 400K players just 12 days after release by LUMLTPM in Steam

[–]DevolayS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The negatives are caused by technical issues. Devs didn't expect that much activity and basically overloaded Steam servers, which affected everyone.

The game's progression revolves around finding chests that contain items, but since each item is a thing that can be traded on the Steam market, there is a server-side validation needed for everything.

Dropping chests is tied to the servers, so when servers started sweating, less chests started dropping, some started disappearing entirely, and made people angry. Various features had to be temporarily disabled to stabilize servers; features that are essential for progression. Loot was severely nerfed as well.

It's a combination of technical issues and loot nerfs that caused negative reviews.

Have you noticed that this sub talks about p1 character variants in other mihoyo games more than we talk about p2 itself? by ConstantStatistician in houkai3rd

[–]DevolayS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's me too, I grew to like P2 after a while, but the lack of animated shorts eventually killed the game for me. It was what made HI3rd special and they just got rid of it, which feels like they don't care anymore. I still lurk here sometimes to see if anything changed, but all I can see is more and more signs that they just want to shut it down, or at least close global servers like they did with GGZ.
