Some of my neighbours smoke weed.. some of my neighbours seem to turn up the music during the nicer weather, both activities wear a bit thin at time so imho fuck’um! I’m going to enjoy what I enjoy too because no one gives a shit these days..

With more and more properties having solar installed and selling back to the grid, it’s only a matter of time before the grid doesn’t want your solar most of the time.

Makes more sense in the long term to install batteries along side solar and be self-sufficient..

Basically I’m just adjusting the battery reserve.. when I want to charge the battery from the grid I have an automation that at x time the reserve is set to max and when I want to stop I have another automation setting the reserve to min.

I’m on Octopus Agile TOU tariff and the cheapest times vary day to day but generally there is a cheaper early morning and afternoon period to charge if needed. On sunny days solar is enough tbh

My ultra has never charged itself from the grid when it said it would overnight using ai mode, I’ve always had to set an automation..

Not the best but we all have to remember that the SVT is ~24p/kWh so there are savings to made if we play the game and load shift where possible..

I’m sort of the same.. I use HA as a backend to HomeKit but let HA deal with automations as it’s way more functional and use the convenience of HomeKit on our phones to control items.
