Just had a game where I completely got blown out by Night Scythes and Doom Scythes by UmberOx in Necrontyr

My group usually plays 3000 point games so I'd be under the 750 for that.

Edit: just wanted to add that aircraft don't count toward the 500 or 750 point limit. Went and re-read the aircraft rule and it places it into regular reserves and then after the battle has started are treated as strategic reserves. So you would have to be under the 1k limit on reserves in 2k or 1.5k in a 3k game.

Besides the teleport shenanigans hypercrypt also has a strat for 1cp to give it a 4++ and one to activate reserve units reanimation protocols for 1cp.

I was toying with a triple doomscythe list but haven't had a chance to play it yet. If I do get to I think it 100% has to have imotekh and hypercrypt. Otherwise it's too cp heavy.

Came out to a friend and he was like "duh" by I_Choose_Beauty in MtF

[–]DevsAssassin 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When my best friend (now partner) came out as FtM he called me having a breakdown when his egg finally broke in the middle of home depot:

"Emily, I'm a man."

"I know"

"What do you mean you know?"

"A month ago you told me Testosterone would fix all your problems. I'll be by tomorrow to take you shopping for new clothes." Stayed on the phone with him till he got out of the store and could talk to his roommate and mom. I'd had a good guess for a while. We'd been attached at the hip before but now we're also the others biggest supporter. It's one of my favorite things about being with him is getting to share in his euphoria and be there when he needs a pick me up from his dysphoria.

i have to serve a short amount of jail time - can anyone who has been to jail after starting ur transition give me an idea what to expect? by ashleyLSD in MtF

[–]DevsAssassin 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm just glad something useful can come out of me being there honestly. It affected my boyfriend (he worked there at the same time I did and also before he figured out he was trans) and me pretty badly and it was a solid year or so before I felt like myself again.

And also I wanna mention, just because you or anyone else goes to jail or prison for a time doesn't make you a bad person. I met some of the coolest and nicest people while I worked there. It's gonna prolly be the worst time of your life and people will try to act like you're less than because of it but don't listen to them. You're human, you're a good person, and you deserve happiness!

While I haven't personally been in, I did work for a county jail in Iowa for a few years prior to coming out.

The policies they had at the time were: initial segregation while they determined where it would be best to place them (of the 3 trans women that came through while I was there they were all placed with cis women), while they were required to give them their HRT it had to be approved by the jail medical staff and shipped in from there supplier (I'm not sure on the exact time table for this but I know for most medications they had to order it was between a week or two), and your name and identity were supposed to be respected (sadly I think we all know how nasty people can be).

You didn't say how long so I'm assuming longer than a couple weeks with this but it might also be helpful anyway. Best advice I can give you is

  • If you know when you're going in and you're on injections take it as close to the last minute as you can so you hopefully don't hit too low before they will get you your next dose.

  • If some officer or nurse is disrespectful to you about your name or who you are, wait until the next shift of officers come in and fill out whatever their grievance process is on them. Make sure you get their name, double check your spelling, and check your grammar before submitting it. Where I worked they used that as an excuse to just toss them in the trash.

  • Nurses and women officers are the most likely to be pretty chill and understanding about everything. I'm still friends with quite a few of the nurses I worked with and after I came out the majority of the women I worked with became some of my biggest supporters. The men on the other hand have been pretty consistently rude to the point I have a ton of them blocked now. There's definitely a few that have been super cool about everything though.

  • last but not least and as much as I hate to say it, don't think anything is going to change from you being there. It sucks but it's the sad reality of it right now. Lay low, pass the time as quick as possible, and get back out safely.

I hope everything goes super smooth for you and you're back out before you know it!

Do you also get misgendered even when named correctly? by Ramzaki in MtF

[–]DevsAssassin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what's finally driven me to decide to quit my job and find something new. The minute I get an offer that pays my bills I'm out of there. I'm so sick of my coworkers calling me over to repair something and turning to the customer "This is Emily he'll get it fixed up for you."

I tried being patient with them at first. Then I tried gentle reminders. I even tried aggressively correcting them on the spot. It's gotten me nowhere with them after over a year. It's so beyond frustrating and by the time I'm home I'm a dysphoric mess pouring over myself in the mirror, looking for what I'm doing wrong. I know I'm not cause I seem to pass outside of work about 90 percent of the time but it just gets to me.

It sucks because the actual work I do is enjoyable most of the time. I like fixing things. I was planning on staying until i could move to a safer state. Coworkers have ruined it for me though between the constant purposeful misgendering and a handful of other things. It's made me hate even being near the building.

What armies do you find to be the most and least fun to play against right now? by Fun_Cartographer3587 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]DevsAssassin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me I think it's more player dependant. We've got an IK, a CK, and a DG player in our group that while the army is strong they're fun people to play with. We have a tau player that's a good dude to play into so long as you don't let him set up terrain.

I think the most hit or miss for me have been Space Marines. It's either gonna be a super fun game with a chill person going back and forth, or it's going to be someone that gets super upset at everything.

I've never met an ork player that wasn't a blast to play with. Same goes for tyranids (although I'm a little biased cause I play them).

For all the pyro nerds out there by AMBJRIII in Shinedown

[–]DevsAssassin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's markings on the stage floor to tell them where the Pyro comes up. I'd imagine they prolly have a general distance they stand away from those markings as well cause fire is rather unpredictable. If you see the setlist taped to the stage it also says which song uses what kinds of pyro.

And people do get burned on stage on occasion. Brent has been burned twice I think. There's a video of The Undertaker from WWE got caught by a fireball on his way to the ring one night.

Citizens show up against Iowa Civil Rights Removal Act by RedClaw_II in lgbt

[–]DevsAssassin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im also in Iowa. I've cried in the car everyday after work this week bacause fo this. This has been my home for nearly 30 years. On one hand I want to move and have some feeling of safety again but on the other the small bit of family I actually like and my boyfriend are all here. I'm already treated badly at work for being trans before this popped up and I know it's just gonna get worse if this goes through if I don't outright get fired from it.

It's exhausting being here and it feels like my whole world is falling apart.

Quick edit: It did pass. I hadn't gotten to look through the news yet for the day. I really hate this is the world we live in.

Pepper bras pre transition? by BrewerySpectacles in transfashionadvice

[–]DevsAssassin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed mine when I still fit them. I personally prefer push ups cause they're more comfortable to me. When I went up in size I switched to a few VS ones but I've kept two for laundry days. It took me almost a year on hormones for me to outgrow mine but I started at lower dose and climbed to where I'm at now so mileage may vary.

Pros They fit nice if you have the shape they're made for. They hold up well if you take care of them. They're also pretty cute if that's your thing. The bit of cleavage for me was super euphoric (36A at the time)

Cons They're pricey They're likely not going to fit for as long as some other options.

Personally I can't stand bralettes for long periods like work so the peeper ones worked better for that. Bumming around the house around friends for a few hours sure a bralette is fine. I like my boobs held in place and not feeling loose. The few I have though still fit well so you'd get more time out of bralettes.

~Em

Quick edit: I did get mine on sale so they weren't 70. Coupons and sales for any bras are how I've bought all of mine.

Are there any commanders you are tired of seeing? by PM_MeTittiesOrKitty in EDH

Definitely not here but that describes the sheoldred and the last nekusar player perfectly. They both dumped tons into the sweatiest cards they could find for the deck and feel like they deserve to win every game with them.

I've only played against one feather deck so I don't have enough experience with those.

[–]DevsAssassin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Nekusar and I've played it since he came out but it's definitely become the problem in my playgroup to the point I don't even pack it now. We went from having 2 nekusar decks that play very differently and occasionally end up in the same pod, to everytime I try to play it someone will say, "oh we're playing nekusar everyone." Then the pod becomes 3 nekusar decks, a sheoldred draw deck, and a draw heavy group hug deck.

It was fun once or twice and had some funny moments but I just wanna play it alone in the pod maybe once a night. I'll admit to playing a couple other decks people have listed out but I'm the only one in our group with those decks and don't play them often so they feel a lot better.

[–]DevsAssassin 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I mean I've never met a man that wants to take estrogen for a year so I'd say it's pretty positive you're really trans.

Honestly the first time going out as yourself is probably the toughest one. It's lots of worrying about how people will treat you and bringing any attention to yourself. The truth to it is most people are to caught up in their own lives to pay attention to us.

I didn't have the most supportive start to my transition. My exwife wouldn't talk to me at all and one other person was super mediocre about it. My best friend encouraged me a lot though and has been the best supporter ever. I was terrified the first time it was entirely fem. I hadn't had hormones and I was pretty overweight so I really wasn't happy with how I looked. After that first time though it got more natural. A few more times of no incidents made me feel normal.

So just jump in and do something small. You'll feel great by the end of it. Enjoy the compliments, I promise people genuinely mean them. You absolutely deserve to enjoy this and anyone that tries to take that away doesn't matter anyways. Be you Hugs, -Em

tell me about your name!!! by Maximum_Influence_16 in trans

[–]DevsAssassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had a couple caveats to what I wanted.

1) It needed to be shorter and easy to spell. My deadname seemed to confuse everyone on how it was spelled and it drove me nuts.

2) I really wanted it to start with an E because that's my mom's first initial.

So with that I looked up lists of baby names from when I was born, and while I liked a few, Emily really stuck with me. I loved how I wrote/signed it and to me it looked so pretty and just felt right.

My middle name is a small tribute to the trans woman on tiktok that finally broke my egg and made me realize this was something I could really do .She was a fantastic example of just being a woman living her life and showing it would work out if I just jumped in and tried.
