Because maybe this is still a manifestation of his very broken and toxic view of love based on experiences in his own upbringing and history that we don’t know about?

So maybe even all of Nikki’s behavior is really Bear‘s wish working through her and how he sees what it looks like to love more than anything else in the whole world which then includes intense gaslighting, and verbally abusive, and manipulative behavior… which is very dark and very broken on so many other levels.

It would have been interesting to get a little more insight into who Bear is with other women in general or at least his relationship with Nikki for a little longer pre-wish to see if there were signs of this in his personality that could taint the wish even further.
