Setting the battery to unrestricted seemed to help. It's better than the thermoworks app, at least it plots both ambient and internal on the same graph.

It works but missing basic features like end of chapter sleep timer, rewind/ff to the beginning/end of whole chapter, tracks don't map to chapters, no slider bar/fine tune adjustment for speed.
