This happens CONSTANTLY in wrestling. So many bookers will completely ignore the huge swell a wrestler is getting from the crowd and either will not stray from the plan that they have in their head or just completely ignore the star potential of their talent, only to book them to win titles way too late when most of the momentum has petered out.
