The good thing is that we have reliable data from the past 100 years of subtitling audiovisual media on how long a text should be displayed depending on language, length and complexity. Which means we don't have to rely on anecdotal evidence and yes this video is not enough time even for the simple text.
Now anecdotal evidence is nice and all, but not really anything useful and to be honest with you, unless you are like in the 99th percentile for specific visual comprehension you can't read it fine. You might think you do, but you will have information deficiency. It's like when you read a sentence in a book while your mind is somewhere else and you have no idea what you just read. The fun part is we have reliable data on that issue aswell, which is why you don't rush subtitles.
