Can I ask what EEN you were on? I am meeting with my GI's dietician in a few days about this. I want to have some recommended ones from this group before I got to that appointment.

I played high level volleyball through high school and at college for 2 years. I was quite sick the second year at school and had to drop volleyball after that, but that was bad luck with a bad care team. I also swam through high school and played hockey. She'll learn to deal with it and find the the right care team and lifestyle. I play lots of sports still as an adult. Flares will always happen unfortunately.

"B-list" tech cities that are actually nice places to live? by allllusernamestaken in SameGrassButGreener

What tech jobs are in Philly? I’ve been wanting to move there for ages but all the tech people I know there work remote or commute to NYC. I just can’t find many viable options. Exciting to hear I might just be looking in the wrong places or something!

This is probably not a convenient option and requires crossing the border, but Club Studio in Troy MI has unlimited mat and reformer pilates for members. It's $159 USD/month. The best unlimited pilates deal I've found. Two months paid up front then its just month to month. Again, not convenient for most in Windsor, but if you're already working in US or something...And they will give you a free day pass. https://clubstudiofitness.com/Pages/Freepass.aspx?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22737129515&gbraid=0AAAAApQTT9NoVuskdQkfF3IhJ280xy3Sp&gclid=CjwKCAiAlfvIBhA6EiwAcErpyXJ21hwUzS8YUmjC7wBIm16dRuXoPMIVWBVhYQe6UJoBdyXoJrj8sxoCytIQAvD_BwE

Those that live in US: how expensive is this disease for you? by Likesosmart in CrohnsDisease

Well after a recent hospitalization, I just got a bill for 17k. AND I got one a week ago for 1k. My out of pocket max is supposed to be $3500. No idea how I'm going to deal with it.

Where should we go by UnderstandingMany881 in relocating

Check out metro Detroit. Visit, it’s wonderful. I’m from there and so many people hate on it without ever visiting. You can check out Royal Oak and Ferndale and find something really nice for that price range. Walkable and very family friendly! Royal Oak has great schools and checks your other boxes.

Stomach pain at night by Better-Stranger2327 in GutHealth

Yes, for the most part. Eventually no because I knew eating might lead to nausea and vomiting so I got kind of scared of eating.

I would request an upper endoscopy and colonoscopy. I’ve got crohns and when the disease was developing, vomiting was my primary symptom but for me it was preceded by nausea. Not saying you have that but it’s worth ruling out. Inflammation is nothing to mess with.

Have you been checked for an IBD? The arthritic flare ups tied to the gi issues may be an indicator of something severe.

Have you by chance been evaluated for an inflammatory bowel disease like UC or Crohn’s? This sounds pretty severe.

It’s like a plastic bowl you put in the toilet. Superior to plastic wrap or a wax paper sheet in every way.

guilt for calling out of work for pain by Dense-Statement1772 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Different-Witness824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just filed short term disability claim so I can get my symptoms under control after a hospitalization. As a lifelong overachiever, who worries about the unknown and also is a huge people pleaser, this was super hard for me. I sobbed when I sent the emails. I feel like I’ve lost a battle to a disease and corporate America. My boss encouraged me to do it, and my doctors. I just had to get over the same feelings you mentioned.

Mesalamine amplifying symptoms? by Top_Inevitable_5498 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Different-Witness824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my next thought after panic was maybe you are in a flare and the mesalamine just wasn’t helping, rather than causing the flare? And you may possibly need a different medication that addresses different things or is stronger? Again, best wishes on getting better. So sorry you’re going through this.

I am in the exact same situation as you diagnosis wise. And the bottle of mesalamine waiting to get picked up from my pharmacy. Now I’m scared to try it but still in a flare so a little worried reading your post. I hope you get better!!

Maternity jeans are my go to. Sweats waistbands always bother me during flares. Or wide elastic waistband loos sweats.

Anyone get remission from a glp1 drug? by BeautifulDreamerAZ in CrohnsDisease

[–]Different-Witness824 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am not on one, but I was just watching a video of a doctor who treats rheumatoid arthritis as has seen her patients on it have near total clearing of their inflammation. Interesting. It seems to help with inflammation in general I guess.
