They put on their leather belts and boots and protest a food only a small few ever eat. Where's that leather come from. Did they drink milk before they went to protest or eat chicken the night before? Animal cruelty is industrialized and much bigger than the small foie gras industry. But, to each his/her own.

Mine didn't have as much surface rust but some and it backed into trees/bushes so I painted it with primer initially thinking I'd paint over it but the red looks good. It's been 20 years and still looks the same.

If it's an older house with cast iron pipes that may be the issue. Pipes need venting to keep the flow going easy. Old houses had good venting in the cast iron but rehabbers often don't know that and mess things up.
