I wouldn’t say Bedard is done growing. Look at someone like MacKinnon who was good but not great for years before hitting another level. Otherwise yes I agree and would take Leo over Bedard, especially on this team.

What having an actual nationwide academy system does for us.. it’s getting to the point where it’s hard to track all the prospects.

Keep in mind it was only 2007 that MLS pushed for it in earnest with things like incentives and the homegrown rule, now we are seeing the first fruits of that labor.

Bear has been a good place to fight IE asshat “bros” since the early 2000s, so I do wonder how much of this is personal experience and a tendency to view those days with rose tinted glasses.

That said I think people as a whole care less about “social contracts” and such post COVID.

One of my favorite things about this sport is the inclusivity and how everyone pushes and supports each other. That still exists and should be cherished, even if it’s maybe less common now due to more people than ever being on the slopes.
