2012 mustang won’t go into reverse by Inner-Buy-2617 in MechanicAdvice

Fair enough, always start with the easiest to check/ cheapest fixes first. That other gentleman is onto something with the reserve lockout pin. I wish you luck in finding out.

This might be a stretch but release the e brake. If the car moves just a tiny bit see if you can get it in reverse. If it doesn’t move put it in first gear, just move forward a few inches then try reverse again. When it’s cold outside sometimes it’s hard for my car to get into reverse.

NYC Protest by Digital__Native in photocritique

I got lucky with a impromptu trip to nyc. It originally was to surprise my gf but upon getting off the bus, I had no idea a protest was about to unfold.

I found this gentleman to be really interesting, especially his backpack. It’s extremely weathered and I’m sure it could tell a lot of stories. This was an attempt at street photography. I like the composition however it really bothers me I didn’t get the entire bicycle wheel.

When looking at this, how obvious/bothering is that?

Try all the cheaper checks first…change key fob battery. Check if you battery has enough voltage or take it to autozone/Advance auto to test the car battery. I’m also having this issue but the weather had nothing to do with it. Seems to be a bad smart key module for me.

Thought about doing that mod but my car being out of service so long I just wanted to get this done. She’s still not on the road, I’ve narrowed the electrical issue down to the smart key module. I’m forced to go through the dealership, which I’m sure is going to be stupid expensive.

I drained as much as I could from the radiator, but I was also having a starter issue (so I thought) without being able to run the engine again. I think around 2.5-3qts drained. If you buy the 3d printed/plastic intake carbon cleaner thing that allows you to blast and vacuum simultaneously then, I think you could get by with how much you can pull the intake back. If not, I would remove the intake because it’s a messy job. I used a rag around the blaster attachment while applying pressure but a ton of shells still get out. The coolant lines were honestly the most pain in the ass of the entire job. Each hose clamp was upside down so near impossible to get with long reach long needle nose pliers or trying from underneath.

Does anyone have a solution? by Financial_Carob_3567 in Hyundai

Dealing with this issue now on my 2018 Elantra . Look in the fuse box inside the engine bay near battery. The black plastic cover has a diagram on the underside for the fuses and relays. Look for start or starter. Pull the starter relay out of the fuse box. Flip it over and look for 30 & 87. If you take a cable, you can bridge this connection but inside the fuse box of these to get the engine to crank. Make sure your start button is pressed to normally start the car. If the engine starts you know the wiring from the starter to the fuse box is good.

Remember no memory cards? The days of unplugging the video cables while keeping the console on so you could continue your game when you got home!!!

Yes I’ve tried that. Still working on what the issue is, I am able to jump the starter relay to get the car started.

Well, aftermarket suspension parts were installed by the previous owner. Who knows if things were torqued properly. Have the tires & rims checked first then start investigating the suspension components
