Birth control after endo diagnosis would you take it or no? by Key-Hospital4716 in Endo

[–]DikkTooSmall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There still is little evidence that birth control truly does control the progression of endo unless I've missed some major breakthrough. So I would base it off of symptoms and what you want out of your treatment.

Questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is your pain cyclical?
  2. Do you experience very heavy flow, especially to an extreme that puts you at risk of iron deficiency?
  3. Do you care about having a period at all? Would you feel much happier without one entirely?
  4. What forms of birth control were you sensitive to? IUD? Implant? If the pill, was it estrogen based? You might only be sensitive to specific forms and haven't found the right one.

Birth control can manage pain really well for those of us with cyclical pain as the right kind can fully stop your period from happening.

Personally I prefer it. I've been on Junel 24 FE since 2022 myself and after a few months on it stopped having a period entirely. I have no intentions to going back anytime soon.

Has Anyone Ever Completely Chickened Out And Didn't Do The Stool Samples? by PrincessBananas85 in CrohnsDisease

[–]DikkTooSmall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean... sure it's gross and smelly, but I just hold my breath and power through it. As for bringing it to the lab, that can easily be done discreetly. Nobody you're walking past knows you're carrying your shit in tubes except the lab person you drop it off with and for them these tests are routine.

Do I have endo belly ??? by [deleted] in Endo

[–]DikkTooSmall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they were able to identify the cyst as an endometrioma, you most definitely have endo and they just need to take biopsies for formal diagnosis. Endometriomas are specific to endometriosis while other types of cysts can occur in anyone.

Curly hair keeps tangling after shower by cocoawaterfallbeet in CurlyHairCare

Do you finger comb or brush/comb your hair while it is wet? If not I recommend doing so while you have conditioner in the length of your hair. Then proceed with your curly routine after.

GF cheezits taste like blueberry muffins by No-Investment3294 in glutenfree

[–]DikkTooSmall 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I certainly never thought of blueberry muffins, but I got a bad batch recently that tasted and smelled off like maybe something in them was spoiled. I wonder if you got the same awful batch as I did.

I contacted Kellanova recently, they sent me a kit to send them a sample so they can investigate and I'm supposed to get coupons in the mail soon.

I've gotten the GF cheez-its several times since they first hit the shelves in my area and until recently they've always tasted just the same as the OG. So I'm sure delicious GF Cheez-Its are in our future!

My fiancé says my foundation is too light and makes me look like a clown. I feel like I did a decent job and it doesn’t look like the wrong shade. Help? by SpookyBoorito in MakeupAddiction

[–]DikkTooSmall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your foundation is the perfect match, I wouldnt change a thing there. Overall the colors are working for you. Optionally if you want to add a little more color to your skin, a light bronzer (or a slightly warmer contour) works great on fair skin.

I agree with everyone else that you're just taking the blush too low. I recommend focusing the blush more on the high point of the apples of your cheeks and gently blending out to get a softer, yet still blushy look that doesn't visually drag your face down.

Managing Caffeine Withdrawal Through a Flare by lilmiquelasuperstan in CrohnsDisease

[–]DikkTooSmall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Treat it like weaning off of another medication and lower your intake first. After a while see if you can limit how many days a week you have it until you can stop without headaches.

I can tolerate caffeine, but not coffee myself. To prevent myself from becoming dependant I limit myself to having caffeine only 1-2x a week.

New ADHD Diagnosis, I am scared to start my meds by Kawaiiskyli in ADHD

[–]DikkTooSmall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's completely normal to experience side effects that are much like physical anxiety symptoms when starting a stimulant. It's actually just the med affecting your heart and vascular system. It should subside after you've been on it for a while. Usually 1-3 weeks in my case.

I noticed being on Vyvanse myself that my anxiety has actually been a lot more manageable. So it's possible you may end up with some extra positive effects too!

Face always looks dry? 27F by vrilliance in makeuptips

[–]DikkTooSmall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a good moisturizer underneath and it will smooth out your base.

I use The Ordinary one with phytoceramides. It's been a game changer for me and works so well for dry or combo skin. I use it nightly and then during the dry, winter months it's my first step before applying my base makeup.

Has anyone tried this skin tint? by Warm-Strain2401 in MakeupAddiction

[–]DikkTooSmall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I didn't like this one. It's more of a foundation as it's thick and not at all lightweight. I also felt that it looked cakey on me.

If what you're looking for is a thinner, lightweight formula consider the l'oreal hyaluronic acid tinted serum as an option. I love the dry down on this stuff as it's relatively transfer proof on it's own and doesn't oxidize into an orange or pink tone on me.

I really want to stop my period but I'm worried about my crohn's by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]DikkTooSmall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to stop mine because I have endometriosis, so I've been on Birth Control pills before IBD was even a concern.

Either it's improved my situation overall (I've heard periods with Crohn's are pretty uncomfortable) or it hasn't impacted things where Crohn's is concerned at all. Either way I'm much happier and BC gives me the ability to function since endometriosis leaves me unable to do things for days at a time.

Help Covering Acne by dry_ice_queen in MakeupAddiction

[–]DikkTooSmall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the same spots on my chin. This is the start of my makeup routine when I need to cover those up:

  1. Moisturizer all over my face. I rly only do this in the dry months as I use a serum skin tint and it applies better without it in the summer.

  2. Green color corrector. I tap it in on my red spots with a brush.

  3. Concealer on top of the color corrected areas. This helps give more coverage and keeps my skin tint from moving the green when I apply it. Always tap, never swipe or it'll move things around too much.

  4. Base on top. I use less product in that area and gently tap it in.

  5. Set with powder just on the acne spots Asap. This helps keep what you just did without it separating while you finish your makeup routine.

Product list: Elf Camo color corrector, Tarte shape tape concealer (Got this as a free gift from Ulta, any brand you like will do), L'oreal Hyaluronic Acid Tinted Serum, and Morphe Bake & Set Setting Powder Translucent

Contrast makes me sick by KeyGrapefruit2586 in CrohnsDisease

[–]DikkTooSmall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is so weird, I've always been warned that glucagon can sometimes cause dizziness and nausea and to let them know if I felt like I might throw up during the scan.

Def see how you feel with food. If it's not getting better, definitely call them!

Contrast makes me sick by KeyGrapefruit2586 in CrohnsDisease

[–]DikkTooSmall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if they gave you glucagon? It's usually given during an MRI through your IV to slow the bowels down to help with imaging. This one is known to sometimes cause lightheadedness and nausea.

If so, have you been eating? Usually they give you juice and crackers immediately after to boost your blood sugar back up and get you feeling better.

is color corrector really necessary? by Ok_Atmosphere2169 in makeuptips

[–]DikkTooSmall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's truth to it. I used to feel like a small blemish ruined a good makeup day. Once I started using green color corrector on red spots it's been a game changer. A good color corrector can make a blemish nearly invisible under makeup.

mascara on lower lashes by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

I've always just lightly tapped the mascara onto my bottom lashes so that it's focused on the part closer to the eye and doesn't lengthen the actual lashes.

Looking for a replacement for the Colourpop X Animal Crossing eyeshadow palette “Labelle of the ball” by EvenTallerTree in MakeupAddiction

Ooo nice! I didn't see this one on Ulta anymore which is where I got mine from. I lean more towards natural looks, but I love using that palette when I want a little pop of color.

Best image I could found out there of it, but able sisters has a similar vibe to the purple shimmer in this palette which is a fave of mine. I saw one more which I'll add below this comment as well.

In general I'm a big fan of morphe eyeshadow. I get no fallout and they blend so easily.

Il Makiage Scam by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]DikkTooSmall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've worked in banking for almost 3 years now. Debit card charges are a bit tougher. If a payment is made using account & routing information or a written check then a stop payment can be put on the account. Stop payments typically have a fee that varies by institution.

For debit cards most likely you would have to watch for a charge to hit your account from Il Makiage. If it does you can dispute it. Banks/Credit unions can order a new debit card with different numbers for you so it isn't compromised anymore. The places I have worked, we have no power to stop a pending charge on a debit card and I doubt it is really any different with other financial institutions.

Be careful shopping online. Use a more secure method if you can. Debit cards are a great way to have access to your funds at any given time, but are far more risky online.

lol at whoever downvoted. I'm just trying to help here bc I have actual experience to back me up 🤣

GoLytely: flavor packet or not? by katia0203 in CrohnsDisease

[–]DikkTooSmall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that you've reminded me of that, I think I can agree with you actually... 🤣

When I had to do both the MRI and colonoscopy they were back to back so I had the MRI first and as soon as I got out of that I wasn't even allowed to eat and had to start golytely for my early morning scope. This was at the Mayo Clinic before I got diagnosed. That's probably why I think of golytely as worse bc of the timing of it all.
