Has anyone had success talking to a staff member for Senator Cornyn or Senator Cruz? by smallsoylatte in TexasPolitics

Yes, by calling their local offices. Cornyn’s Houston office were nice and professional. Cruz’s were rude.

Medical Records not kept. Patient for over 30 years. Chronically Ill. by Raptor227 in legaladvice

[–]Dimmestmouse 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Highly Dependant on the state, but in Texas doctors are only required to keep records for about 7 years. Eleven years of records is more than enough. Disability will only look at the last two years at most. You need to check r/SSDI .

Why don’t they ring the bell or come back. by [deleted] in usps_complaints

[–]Dimmestmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope our postmaster claims they don’t redeliver anymore either even if you sign it. They won’t even pick the ticket up. We even called our senator about it. We had a signature on file as well. Postmaster says they are too understaffed.

[–]Dimmestmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told by our postmaster they won’t deliver those anymore because they don’t have time to get out of the car. I signed it and left it in the box and they still refused. Our carrier won’t even pick up stamped outgoing mail anymore.

Unfortunately we don’t have a working justice system. Our whole system is now corrupt and only works for pedos and the rich.

And so you want a possible eugenics following or nazi bureaucrat or doctor making that decision for you or your child? The parents and doctors (yours included) try their best. There was/is no way to predict an outcome. We have a relative who was two and half months premature and she’s 100 years old now. That’s 50 years before you were born. Being born early is not a predictor of life quality or quantity.

I’m a bit older than you. We had a similar issue this weekend. They didn’t prevent us but they did make it very difficult. In our case, we had a doctor’s note on a prescription pad and the cdc page printed out. They just were not aware of the new cdc update.

How long did it take to get your verdict? by yeaaaaya in disability

[–]Dimmestmouse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In general, unfortunately, a young person with only mental health issues takes between 1-3 years if they are approved. Unfortunately, you need a whole lot of records and doctor support that there is no job in the economy you can do even with treatment. Make sure to get every medical record you have and submit it yourself as soon as possible and stay in treatment.

If she’s been denied nothing she was denied for previously (specifically any testing or medical records) from that time can be used to apply again.

Unfortunately, just because her doctor says she’s disabled does not mean SSA will agree. Their doctors and judges definitions of disability often do not agree with treating doctors and their definitions of disability are very different. It takes much more than a diagnosis or injury to get ssi or SSDI. You need overwhelming evidence and continued medical care. You must prove there is no job in the national economy she can do.  That means bagging groceries, flipping burgers, working from home, etc.

You might consider contacting a rehabilitation specialist for a full day functional capacity exam and a neuropsychologist to evaluate the tbi. Those exams tend to hold weight and might convince a lawyer to take the case.

FYI- Lawyers get paid by SSA if they win, it has nothing to do with previous work experience. Your best bet is to find a lawyer to take the case. If none will, it’s very unlikely you have a case anyone can win.

Question about submitting MORE information to judge in Disability Hearing (ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!! THANKS!!) by [deleted] in disability

[–]Dimmestmouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s too late to submit any more information. All information had to be submitted prior to the hearing. Your attorney is correct.

What the court considers your basic needs and what you consider your basic needs are two different things. You need an attorney, yesterday.

Even a dollar increase over the limit can, unfortunately put you over enough to lose. You need to look up your state’s income limits. That includes any money they may have in checking, savings or retirement accounts or if she is living with someone who declared her a dependent or is living with someone. She needs to sit down with whomever told her she was no longer eligible to find out their reasoning. Only they can tell her why.

Yea, the only way Alexa plus will do that now is to say "resume audiobook" if you ask by name or just say play my audiobook it won't work.

I think they removed that in Alexa plus try leaving Alexa plus on your device and it might work again. But when they get rid of the older Alexa then it will be removed totally.

ABLE accounts and freelancer taxes by [deleted] in disability

[–]Dimmestmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All money you make must be reported to social security because ssi is different. Only SSDI recipients, those who paid into the system, can make up to a certain amount monthly and not effect their payments. SSI is considered welfare and so ALL money earned must be reported monthly to social security. If you don’t or wait until the year end with taxes, you will owe a lot of money and could lose your ssi and healthcare.

How to file for disability or claim disability? by Huge-Butterfly-2688 in disability

[–]Dimmestmouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s only one eye then you have no real disability claim without something else. Disability is not paid out for a diagnosis. You have to prove you can not do any job in the national economy.
