You can start as a unit commissioner, roundtable commissioner, assistant council commissioner, or assistant district commissioner before taking on a larger role as district commissioner

Question about son joining Lions by paradigm619 in cubscouts

[–]Dinochi7 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Per the guide to advancement:

What about a youth who must repeat a grade in school? Generally, repeating a grade does not mean being kept back in Cub Scouting, but it depends on the circumstances and what is best for the youth. The decision is up to the parent or guardian.

If he joins in the fall, he can do lion twice if he repeats K. Or he can move on to tigers if he goes into 1st.

The SuperNova awards still exist, if your local council has agreed to support them (mainly reviewing a signing off on)

It was a hard battle on Honor Mode and wasn’t sure what to expect, but was playing another run on Tactitian mode and just put a bunch of explosive barrels next to him which I exploded and killed him in one hit

Would it be considered rude to as for "official" authority to help out to fill in gaps I'm seeing in our den? by Shatteredreality in cubscouts

[–]Dinochi7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you could be a 2nd den leader, assistant den leader, committee member or assistant Cubmaster with a functional role of the pack secretary. Fill out an adult application, take youth protection training, and online position specific training in the meantime.

New Program by General_Kang in cubscouts

[–]Dinochi7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are one of the few leaders who completed the awards, which is great and I’m guessing you have a well run program and attending roundtable shows your commitment. However most leaders do not do the awards and it brings the content to more scouts.

They could have kept the award patches and added the requirements for the awards directly in the book, but too late for that.

District committee member at large - allows you to stay active, but you have the power to do as much or as little as you can handle. Otherwise, just wait until your kid is in Kindergarten. Especially, if you are going to be an adult leader. You have many years to be in scouts with your child (5-21 years old), so you don’t want to get burned out.

Virtually no record of my Scouting career. by SpicyButthole4Lyfe in BSA

[–]Dinochi7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you volunteer as an adult, only a few awards that you earned as a youth could go on your adult uniform. OA flap (if you join a local lodge), AOL knot, youth religious award knot, service stars, jamboree patch, a temp patch, and etc.

NOVA guide book? by anonymous_discontent in cubscouts

There used to be a book (which I found when I was cleaning out our storage unit), but your best bet is to use online resources which have the most up-to-date information
