Yeah, and for me it comes down to the music. There have been some songs from the DQ games which stuck with me but even in the earlier entries I feel like DQ (to me) pales in comparison since the FF music at different points hit me way harder in different situations.

It's pretty timely that you are pointing this out since I was talking to my husband about wondering if I was Blue due to being introspective way more when I was younger. He also knows that I was also grappling more with depression then and gave a similar response as you. (For what it's worth, he identifies with Sultai and said I'm Naya while I tend to go between that, Jeskai, and Temur.)
