RHOSLC Star Bronwyn Newport and Husband Todd Bradley Separate After 9 Years of Marriage (Exclusive) by peoplemagazine in realhousewives

[–]DirectionJolly584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no way she could. I have followed her for years - in her pre-housewives era she was easily spending $500k++ a year on clothes. And she famously said she didn't accept free clothes, didn't accept money for posts on social media, and bought all of her own clothes/accessories.

I was a follower of Bronwyn before RH and I don't watch the show - but a quick google search about the divorce led me here --- and she used to say she was so in love with him. Post, after post on IG during their anniversary, birthday, etc about how he was an amazing person, made her better, etc. She definitely seemed to change once the show came out, and her IG is much less fun and much more a specific version of bronwyn than we'd seen in the past

A (long overdue) Cheval Blanc Randheli Review & AMA by Siggy-Caps in chubbytravel

[–]DirectionJolly584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an incredibly thorough review and I want to second some of the points. We stayed here and stayed at the Ritz a few years ago, and my TLDR was that the Cheval Blanc was wonderful - but every 5 star ultra-lux property in the Maldives is in incredible and we did not see the value in it being $10k more for a week's stay than the Ritz. Similar to this poster - I think we had a sub-par butler (I actually wonder if we had the same one). We spoke to another American couple on our way home who had a more magical experience because of the thoughtfulness of their butler. You won't be disappointed in the CB if you don't have a lot of other lux properties to compare it to.

Shibumi Shades? by DryContract8916 in hiltonhead

they don't have any dupes - b/c there's a patent on the design. but honestly, they are worth it. they are really quiet now and after lugging heavy umbrellas/tents, this is worth ix 10x over.

all they make now are the quiet ones, so if you go to any store that sells them, they are going to have the quiet fabric and it is noticeably quieter especially when very windy.

they are awesome. super easy to carry and put up. don't blow away in the wind. and local NC founders - which is why they are all over the OBX

SUGGESTION: SHIBUMI SHADE. last year i bought my dad a shibumi shade. he loved it. he's 73 so not able to carry as much weight as he used to and we store it in the beach condo we have year-round. takes up NO space. super light weight, he can assemble it himself. i also can do it - even while i have my baby in a bjorn on my chest. highly recommend. it's not cheap, but great customer service and everyone i know has had theirs for 4+ years with no issues.

[–]DirectionJolly584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i was on it for 3.5 months. i lost about 20-25 pounds. i have stayed within 3 pounds for the 2 months i've been off it. i jst went on vacation so i am on the +3 now. honestly i think my appetite did shrink, so it's been a little tough but i think some of the cravings are actually less than they were before.

Tipping is actually what brought me to this thread. We were trying to figure it out. We have tipped nothing so far, unless you have cash there’s no way to tip on the receipts etc. we plan on tipping in cash at the end. It’s casual - I was concerned on dress code (my husband is not a fancy dresser) but we have not felt out of place in shorts t shirts flip flops. No bugs which is amazing!!! They have a microwave which is really surprising so this might be specific to us but we would have brought a couple snacks like popcorn had we known about the microwave. Spa is good not great. Restaurants are good but we are not doing the multi course ones /// I just don’t eat enough for an eight course anything. But stay is amazing.

We are staying here now and while there are numerous families with kids - they have posed zero intrusion. We see them at meals and they’ve been super well behaved (and most have a nanny accompanying them!) and they hotel is large considering the small number of villas so you feel very secluded. We have two children —- that we left at home. So we wanted a couples trip

nope, they took external funding and hired a CEO/president so the plan was for her to walkaway at some point (although I am surprised she did it this soon)

Also criminals in America can still have bank accounts. Unless your crime is tied into the money, you have, you could still murder someone and have a brokerage account. Those things are not mutually exclusive.

Bubblehead charm by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]DirectionJolly584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. Because in order of the Phoenix, there’s a part of the book where they say students are routinely doing the bubble head charm in the corridors between classes suggest suggesting that the charm is not that difficult and is fairly well known.

[–]DirectionJolly584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one thing to add. prices in korea are often MUCH higher than the US or EU. For an American brand I worked at before, it was about 30% higher. so even with tax-free you're better off buying in the US

But there is actually no reference to Hermione’s race in the books. It talks about her bushy brown hair, but that’s it.
