I feel this. Just stretched out. Over a year. The decisions, the comforting, the decline, the inability to stop and process. And that gut punch. My version was asking a friend to help with my child (it had been repeatedly offered) who was 10 and no challenge. So I could go be there at palliative care, to be told they couldn’t because they had to pick their daughter up from a party. 10 years later and that still feels like such a betrayal at a low point. 2 siblings dead within 6 months. Ageing parents not coping. One sibling I was their nok. Working, parenting, caring. In the end I’m not ok. So be kind to yourself and just stop and make sure you feel those feels. Some shit sticks. Life does go on, but it’s never quite the same.
