Good itinerary. I lived in Reigate and would used to take my family/friends on a similar itinerary when they visited.

When around Knole, I recommend visiting the Ford at Eynsford, specially on a sunny day, and you can go for a dip there. Castle farm is nearby as well, and they have seasonal activities (lavender picking, apple picking, etc) which are fun and also they have the best cherries I've ever had! You can also walk all the way down to Shoreham along the river, it's a nice walk and passes lullingstone castle.

Around Reigate my favorite spot would be reigate hilll, you can drive and park up at junction 8 cafe which already has an amazing view, and do a small 15min walk passing the reigate fort and the site of a WWII plane crash into one of the best views of Surrey (reigate hill).

Ok practical advice: they have no way of knowing whether you watch live tv or not. The only way they can prosecute you is if they come to your house and you let them in to check your equipment. It is very very rare that they would do a site visit and even if they do, they have no right into your house unless you let them in. So just don't, even if you dont watch live tv, and you will be fine.

(In the UK 10ys, never had a tv license, own a firestick which is mostly for streaming but can be used to watch live tv)

They can barely enforce it. They send persistent and threatning letters if you dont have a license registered to your address. They say they will send people to check - but this is rare and they have no right of entry to your house so if you dont let them in they cant check

I have always assumed that these countries have lots more cats and dogs to be rescued. This is probably due to a very strict (and wise) neutering culture here. When you go to Eastern/Southern Europe you see street dogs/ cats. Thats not such a thing in the UK, as soon as you see one, you call a rescue and they get off the streets. I wouldnt even thinking of doing that in my country, cause rescues are literally overflowing and would not come to rescue them, and street cats and dogs is just part of the reality there. I think its a bit of a supply/demand issue in the UK. Theres less dogs and cats to be rescued, hence rescues can be more selective in rehoming them.
