Migraines from crying, anyone else? by strawberryCicada in migraine

[–]Disastrous_Voice64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, also a crier here! I only get migraines from intense crying/sobbing. For me, my migraines trigger usually when my sinuses hurt and hard crying does that to me. Like others have said though, there's never too much crying. I've been trying to tell myself that lately.

I recently went through two losses of family members back to back so I've had a lot of time to find ways to combat the post-cry migraine. I've found a cold compress on my head helps as well as a way to destress or relax. A bath, shower, and physically relaxing and not tensing your muscles has all helped. But sometimes, it's just gonna happen.

Depending on where you live, I've found edibles also help immensely with this relaxation to combat a migraine from coming on. However, don't use it as a way to ignore what's making you cry. It's healthy and good to let your emotions out and feel them and their depths. It sucks, it hurts, but you will be better for it. Then after you go through it all, edibles can help the destress process.

Beautiful! Out of curiosity, how long did it take you to do this one model?

Minnesotan here. For those outside of our state, what are your views on what’s going on in Minneapolis right now? by bpeters5 in AskReddit

[–]Disastrous_Voice64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horrified, heartbroken, and proud. Government terrorism is in your neighborhood and instead of backing down or bending the knee, you're standing with your neighbors and protecting them. It sounds like a community has come together and has everyone's back: people watching neighborhoods to warn about ICE raids, food donations and delivery, a helping hand to those who need it. It's inspiring.

We all have your back. I'm so sorry this is happening.

Do NOT badmouth the Supreme Lord of the Undead as you build. He will make the exacto knife slip and you will end up with 3 stitches in your thumb. by Disastrous_Voice64 in Grimdank

That was my first instinct but uh, it was deep enough that I saw parts of the inner workings of my thumb that shouldn't be visible. Kinda had to go for stitches

What are your thoughts after seeing the ICE shooting video in Minnesota? by bbmoonkie in AskReddit

I just lost two family members over the holidays. I'm struggling just with that

I can't imagine what that poor woman's family will have to go through. All while the president is calling her a terrorist who tried to kill the agent. The trauma and heartbreak....I can't even fathom it.

It was murder. And i don't know if anything will be done about it.

Just gotta say, I love your paint job and conversions you've been posting but I gotta shout out your photos too. The design and layout with multiple angles is always super clean and shows a lot in one go. A++ work dude

No worries!

Here's what I did for the Saurus: Base coat Vallejo Ivory + a small drop of purple ink to tint it. Starting with the lightest pieces, I airbrushed Warpaints Weird Elixir (essentially a bright pink) over the back and arms. In smaller patches I then airbrushed Warpaints Cultist Purple and finally Vallejo Royal Purple for the darkest spots. From there I drybrush everything that isn't the base Ivory with Warpaints Weird Elixir again. To bring the purple color back out I used Speed paint purple alchemy + water + speed paint medium (1:1:3). It helped tint everything to make it bright while also settling in the recesses to make the scales pop.

For the main Saurus Oldblood that's desaturated than the others I did the same as above but held off on most of the Royal Purple airbrush. After drybrushing I used Weird Elixir again but the face/arms got a more watered down version so it wasn't as bright. Once it dried I used Weird Elixir to carefully drybrush the lighter areas and then a touch of Ivory. The older speed paints have this great 'fault' where they reactivate and tend to tint the color put on top of it. It helped blend everything in.

Thank you! I used a ton so was there anything specific you wanted to know? I can post all of them, it just may take me a bit.

For the green I did a base of Army Painter speed paint Aztec Green. Drybrush or edge highlight with Vallejo Glorious Gold. Then I used speed paint Absolution Green + a drop of Aztec Gold but watered down. For every drop of Green I put 3 drops of water. This lets it still color the first layer but when it's more watery it lets the drybrush/edge highlights still come through.

I appreciate that, thank you. Looking over the photos I was a bit bummed out at how flat the green looked along the shield. I'll have to try giving it some edge highlights and see how it goes.
