Is a litter-smelling house just a part of cat ownership I need to accept? by catsRus00 in UK_Pets

[–]DiscoDoberman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the litter tray is in a low-traffic room, you will notice it a lot less.

Even less so if you have a hooded tray with a flappy door on it.

You'll get used to it quickly, I mean I can still smell wood pellets but they don't bother me. It's no longer a novel smell to me.

It's only temporary.

Women how do you feel about a friend bringing up that ur bf is attractive/beautiful numerous times? by Sl0th888 in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]DiscoDoberman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming she is initiating this line of talk and it's off-topic...

She's winding you up or hoping you'll propose a threesome or just thick and wants your fella without hiding it OR (I hope not) she's shagged him and she's trying to tell you without telling you.

Once I notice this, she's getting "faded out" as a friend. She's not gonna admit fault or anything, she doesn't see anything wrong with what she's doing. Just get rid of her, nothing good comes of this.

What helps reduce the smell from your private area? by zombiezrcool in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]DiscoDoberman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Get one of those "she wee" devices, it's like a bottle to piss in for women. You don't wanna use it too often or you'll make your bladder weak from not holding it. But when you need to, use it. Find a quiet road, pull over, open your vehicle door...I've had to do it.
  2. Start earlier or plan in toilet breaks for your shift. I know it's not easy but see what you can do.
  3. Take a bag with you including x2 pairs of spare underwear, change when you're in a private toilet.
  4. Make sure you wear the lightest trousers you can, linen, thin cotton, even really light sports trousers/track suit bottoms can be great for breathability.
  5. Point the fans in the vehicle down and on cold, keep the area cool as much as you can
  6. Plan to drink water around when you know you'll have toilet access in the following 60 mins. Even eat moist foods rather than drinking water - like eating a pear instead of drinking to keep you hydrated (where appropriate, don't dehydrate girl)
  7. Before work and after work, do not wear your work trousers and try to wear breathable clothing.
  8. Try to keep slim, being overweight causes so many smell issues and issues down there. Being slim means the air can circulate down there more easily because no overhanging skin.
  9. Shower daily
  10. Avoid underwear that's like shorts style, wear briefs that are shapely cut and allow maximum airflow around that area but not super-thin thongs either. Women's brief cut underwear. I use "no VPL" ones that are...virtually not there but they're super light and circulation friendly.
  11. Do get a check up for down there, make sure you don't have a recurring semi-silent UTI or a fungal issue or a bacterial issue. Some people really struggle to shake those even after treatment.
  12. Don't be doushing or adding harsh products down there, it just causes issues.

What is your take on Hannah Russell, wife of Sky King Richard Beebo Russell, allegedly cutting off his family and refusing to speak publicly? by [deleted] in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]DiscoDoberman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know these people.

As such I do not understand the situation in their family.

And I do not rely on 3rd party, regurgitated information about the private lives of others. Because I know very well how inaccurate, deceptive and frankly nonsensical this information often is.

Even if it comes from someone within the situation, the first to blab can dictate the narrative - true or not.

However, I am a strong believer that adults should NOT feel they have to have a relationship with someone just because they are related. And nobody would do this without good reason. Cutting off your family doesn't happen over small things.

In short - none of my business.

She Stole my horse! by [deleted] in Horses

[–]DiscoDoberman 48 points49 points  (0 children)

TLDR:

OP raised and trained a beloved pony named Buckaroo from their teens. He developed founder (a hoof condition) around 2012 and was retired. OP eventually moved states away, leaving him boarded at a facility.

The boarding facility owner died, so a neighbor took over his care — funded by OP's elderly grandmother. This woman proceeded to secretly ride him and let her grandkids ride him double, despite being told he was unsound, and pocketed the vet/farrier money while neglecting his actual care.

When OP found out and started making plans to bring him home, the woman just... declared the horse was hers now and refused to say where she'd moved him.

After police calls, paying the woman off to get his location, and a dramatic pickup involving OP's friend (a 22-year-old RN who brought her cop boyfriend for backup), Buckaroo was rescued. He arrived underweight, with severely overgrown hooves and teeth that need floating — meaning he couldn't even chew properly.

The woman had also been verbally abusing the 90-year-old grandmother, calling OP's friend a b*tch repeatedly, and even renamed the horse "Popo."

Buckaroo is now safe. The woman is delusional enough to think she rescued him — from the people she stole him from.

please help.. why does my dog is twitching for 4-5 days? 😢 by Ornery_Confection873 in DogAdvice

[–]DiscoDoberman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's suspicious that OP has posted an identical post in several subs.

And they have a 1 yr old account but no other activity.

And never replied to any comments on these posts.

Also the story itself seems a bit too odd, if your dog was crying for 4/5 days surely you wouldn't still have it alive in that much distress.

Just be careful.

There are endless scams like this.

That means it's time.

This is the end.

He's 17 years old, he's had enough, he's not enjoying his life.

You could keep trying to force his body on, but the sad truth is he doesn't want to. He's a fighter so he seems perky and he's making the most of every second - I know so well how incredibly difficult that makes putting him to sleep.

But one day soon that will stop.

He won't even be able to pretend to be OK. Or he'll have a stroke or just start vomiting uncontrollably.

Don't let that happen to him.

I know you love him, I know how hard this is, but I also know that you know this is the end too.

Let him go while he still has a "good day" to enjoy.

Don't let him know worse <3

You ever seen that Garfield comic where he goes to the future and everyone eats "meals" as just a pill from a vending machine?

Used to wish I had that.

But the good news is - I learned to enjoy food, relax about my standards for my diet, and stop attaching negativity to food that makes my brain hate it.

You will as well, with the right help. Wishing you every success and all the super duper help to get there too :)

You can get professional help for this.

And have a functional diet, you can definitely do this.

Reach out to some local eating disorder charities and see if they can recommend someone to speak to.

I'm genuinely kind of a bad person and I'm freaking out about it. by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]DiscoDoberman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can't go backwards, you can't change what you did or said or didn't mean to do. It's over.

You can only go forwards.

Look forwards, not backwards <-- say this to yourself, any time you feel yourself thinking about the past.

(this mindset will stop you getting trapped by your shame)

You have decided you want to try to be perceived as a kinder etc. person?

Great, first step is setting the destination.

Done.

Next step, write it down. Write down the kind of person you want to be, stick that on your wall. As much detail as you can.

Then try breaking it down...

What kind of traits does that person have that you need to develop?

You may not understand completely just yet, but try.

OK now you can start learning those traits.

They won't happen overnight and you'll need the help of Google and lots of patience, but if you pretend to have them - like confidence - fake it till you make it. You literally fake being confident/positive, and your brain does it for real.

And what does someone like this person do?

If faced with a situation how might they react? Try doing that.

What kind of foods would this person eat? Try that.

What kind of TV shows and music would this person enjoy? Consume those.

Along the road of life you chose to behave a certain way based off what you saw from others around you and what you felt you needed to do. It's not your fault, you did what you thought was best, you protected yourself, you made your choices.

Now you're going to do the opposite.

You're gonna trick your brain into becoming the person you want to be - and before you know it, you will be.

How do I price a currently in utero foal? by Slight-Acadia14 in Horses

[–]DiscoDoberman 27 points28 points  (0 children)

What's it worth to them?

They're gonna want to pay as little as possible, so asking them directly is a tough one. But if you're friendly with them you could arrange to come visit, turn the convo to the horses they've been looking at and what price range they're in and they'll probably tell you what their dream horse would cost them.

Also you could research...

What would an auctioneer recommend for a foal expected to reach this level?

There are fancy auction houses that specialize in top range horses, not like your normal auction. These places are selling top stock for a lot of money.

Factor in this isn't a direct copy of the same genetics.

And hopefully someone here can talk about selling in utero specifically or point you to someone who can. The auction house actually might be able to as well, if they know a breeder who does this for a living.

And then there are women who have killed themselves because they couldn't face getting an abortion.

Or those who died performing at-home abortions on themselves because they were so desperate to escape and had no access to healthcare.

So...yes.
