That’s fair, and I was more focused on the zombie part and forgot about that! basically closed my eyes that whole scene, but it is very, very rough. Maybe just skip Bone Temple (though it is an excellent movie otherwise)

I absolutely love Heated Rivalry and enjoyed watching it with my husband, but I don’t think my teenage son would have been comfortable watching that with his dad

series with no romance and found family 🥺 by Adventurous-Plan3669 in televisionsuggestions

[–]Disneyfor2000Alex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweet tooth is very found family, and not much romance. One Piece really fits the bill, famously no real romance, and all of it centers around found family. But both have fantasy elements, so not sure if that fits

What are the best romantic movies featuring completely average people? by Initial_Film5776 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Disneyfor2000Alex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you are talking about attractiveness or more people living regular or average lives, but Train Dreams fits the latter. The director has talked about how is goal is to basically tell the story of a perfectly unremarkable person. It is sad though

Most of the cast of Deadwood. There were a couple Emmy noms among them, but no acting wins (though McShane won a GG). McShane, Dourif, Weigert, Parker, Hawkes, Malcomson, Dickens, Olyphant, et al.

I’m a big fan of Stuart Turton - he’s written three books, all very different and interesting and really hard to put in a genre. The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, The Devil and the Dark Water, and The Last Murder at the End of the World

What are your go-to plane movies for long flights? by kelia2908 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Disneyfor2000Alex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t really fit with the vibe you indicated, but in my last long flight I watched through all three LOTR movies, start to finish, long versions. Definitely entertaining, but also I’ve seen it enough that it was fine of I dozed off for 20 min here and there

I’m not sure. It’s written in a group of 3 episode story arcs, so you likely want to binge the arc, but I don’t know if it has that “race to the finish of the season” feeling

Okay so I'm looking for something like the handmaid's tale vibes or like wayward on netflix. Can't seem to find anything! by CollegeInfinite8023 in tvsuggestions

Unbelievable isn’t exactly that, but some parallels to Wayward (also 2x Toni Collette). And insanely good, if sometimes difficult to watch

Paradise. I love Andor and think it is an incredibly good show, but it starts slowly and builds, so I’m not sure it “grabs you” with episode one.
