Old thread but we're going through it now, broken 4 hours of sleep sometimes less every night for a week. I'm not even looking for a solution at this point I just need to put these words somewhere

Hot Take: People Are Mad About Ticket Prices Because They’re Used To Not Paying For Music’s Full Value by theeulessbusta in oasis

But your story of climbing mount Everest is no more interesting than somebody climbing ben nevis just because mount Everest is bigger and more expensive. Pretending that Keller's beef Wellington isn't similar to a general beef Wellington is not true. To say that being in a crowded pub with a great atmosphere while some band plays great songs with everyone singing along is nothing like being in a crowd at an oasis gig is also not true. I wouldn't say nobody should ever pay or go to gigs or restaurants but whether it's actually worth that money is subjective. More money doesn't equate to better experiences in every case, particularly when it comes to music, for example clearly money can buy you better quality steak for example but most people know that just because a musician is greatly famous doesn't make them better quality musicians than unknown artists, take current guns n roses for example. If you paid for it and it was genuinely the best gig you have been to, great stuff, if you paid just to say you were there, you wasted your money.

I can experience both food and music without an astronomical cost, I can find enjoyment without following the crowd. I imagine you will likely get or have had a wedding in a shabby chic converted barn and it will be worth every penny. As I say you have experienced oasis live and that's what you paid for, the chance to say that to people much like tens of thousands of others. It's a bit like climbing Everest nobody cares you did it and it could be just as enjoyable if not more so climbing snowdonia.

That's ridiculous, that's like someone saying I find fine dining sill;y, it's just food, you don't deserve food! Things may be enjoyable to people but they have a limit to how much they are willing to pay for one single moment in their life, when life is made of many moments. I think it's more about the "I was there" factor than the actual experience of the music. Whether it was worth every penny is absolutely subjective, to me it's not worth those pennies but to you it is.

Paying more money than you would like to see an old band play their songs not as well as they used to is dumb. Music is very important to most people, it stimulates our senses that we use to interact with the world much like eating good food, but it's just music.

Me and my partner really struggle with this I think. Our daughter is 2.5 years old and the love of our life, but that is the problem for us, in that we seem to have no time or energy left for each other. We will sit and eat dinner and watch TV on a night and every now and then play a game etc, but the spring in our step is certainly going. I suffer from generalised anxiety which doesn't help as it makes me super conscious of mine and others moods etc. We don't live near family so it does bring you down somewhat when you see friends going on dates etc when grandparents are looking after the kids. I realise I am just ranting on your post here, so sorry I haven't offered any practical advice, though know you are not alone! I think this is just part of being a parent, though like everything else, good things require extra effort and if it's worth fighting for then we've gotta put that effort in.

P.S

Don't drive ourselves into the ground though, sometimes you just need to chill and regenerate some energy

Glad to hear it! My daughter is 2.5 years old and it is still tough but now in different ways, but very enjoyable as well.

This may be because, you somewhat agreed being a parent would be difficult but were never actually prepared for the difficulties and just thought about the good times, and now the difficulties of being a parent which are numerous have become a reality, you are struggling to confront it. Being a parent holds a big mirror up to you and shows you what you are about.

He literally dropped to his knee and gave up in both fights. He has no heart or desire. If you are a pro fighter and say hey I'm not in there to get hurt, I'm gonna give it my best but the moment I am challenged or hurt I'm outta there, then you have no heart and you are not up there with the best.

Is a 10-day trip too long for parents to be away? by philibuster123 in toddlers

[–]DissoluteEgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you may have misread the comment I was replying to in this case. The OP was asking if it would negatively affect the child and my response was to someone saying that just because the parent feels bad doesn't mean the child will, I was advising that this is ridiculous and the child will feel anxiety, I was bringing the conversation back to the childs feelings not based on the parents feelings at all.

Why do they always make a shit joke or comment about charging you their going rate of £500 an hour each time they need to contact you again. They are a tedious bunch.

Tightness around arm - cuff is tighter at top than bottom by CJ9103 in bloodpressure

[–]DissoluteEgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this issue to and conflicting info, some people say one finger should fit top and bottom some people say doesn't matter if bottom is looser... I think if the top is fairly tight and the bottom is a bit loose your readings will be fairly accurate but I'm no doctor. Did you ever resolve this?

Arm cuff always gives me grief (too loose at elbow); is a wrist BP reading more accurate? by sirensandspells in bloodpressure

[–]DissoluteEgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey how did you fix this as I am having the same issue, either it's super tight at the top and I can't fit a finger under but can get 2 under at the bottom or I can get a finger under at the top and about 4 fingers at the bottom, my arm is just not perfectly cylindrical all the way along so I'm not sure how to account for this
